Name: Chad Deal, MD

Statement: Dr. Chad Deal is the owner and one of the master surgeons at Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Deal is a leader in cosmetic surgery, particularly body surgery cases. Name: Vincent Gardner, MD

Statement: Dr. Gardner began performing cosmetic procedures while completing a fellowship in facial and body cosmetic surgery with Southern Surgical Arts. He moved his practice from Birmingham, Alabama to Chattanooga and since that time has devoted his practice to cosmetic surgery and advancing the modern treatment of venous disease. He lectures frequently on these topics.

The surgeons who complete the fellowship program are eligible to become certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS). Name: Michael S. Kluska, DO

Along with his years of medical training, Dr. Kluska credits an undergraduate degree in art from Washington and Jefferson college with shaping his approach to plastic and cosmetic surgery as both a science and form of art. Statement: Born and raised in rural Northern Utah, Dr. Summers learned from a young age the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance while helping with the various duties of a family farm. When not actively working the farm, Dr. Summers could be found participating in any number of sports, playing in a woodshop, or spending time with family and friends. Following high school, Dr. Summers spent two years serving a church-related mission in beautiful Guatemala, where he would also become fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Summers path to medicine began after returning from Guatemala at the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Physiology, and earning a coveted designation on the Dean’s List for his academic achievements.

Dr. Summers earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, excelling in neuromuscular medicine. While there, he served as President of the neuromuscular medicine chapter, representing the school at various national meetings.

Following his medical school training. Dr. Summers moved to Long Island, NY, where he spent 5 years learning the art of general surgery. It was intense and comprehensive surgical training, including countless hours on the plastic and reconstructive surgical teams. Dr. Summers would come to be known for his compassion, leadership, and operative skills and would serve as a chief resident during his 5th year of training. His dedication to advancing surgical knowledge and patient care is evident through his published research on breast cancer and new innovations in breast cancer treatment. Dr. Summers also received special recognition for his outstanding service during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Name: Andrew Ray, DO

Statement: Dr. Ray originally from rural Maine has an extensive and varied background around the country and the world. Dr. Ray settled in Chattanooga, TN after completing a cosmetic fellowship year at Southern Surgical Arts. Prior to this he completed his General Surgery Residency in Pontiac Michigan with an extensive background in Trauma Surgery, then worked 5 years in rural New Hampshire focusing on hernia repair, and skin cancer management with facial flaps. Dr Ray also works regularly as a volunteer surgeon with Mercy Ships, a non profit organization that serves many different countries along the coast of Africa.

Dr. Ray now has settled with his 2 Children on Lookout Mountain and is enjoying the the southern life. His surgical practice is quickly becoming known for natural aesthetics and refined body sculpting. In addition to surgery, Dr. Ray is actively working on a research regarding pain management and the reduction of opioid consumption in cosmetic surgery. Biography: I’d like to introduce myself. I am a South Carolina Native. I started my nursing career in the ICU and worked full-time as a Critical Care RN up until August 2021. In 2018, an incredible opportunity arose for me to begin working part time for a plastic surgery practice as an aesthetic nurse injector. As my skill set with injectables expanded, so did my passion for aesthetics. In May of 2021, I relocated to Chattanooga to begin a new chapter in life with my now fiancé Jacob Wilburn. For me the best part of working in aesthetics are the connections I’ve made with my clients. Having someone trust me with the appearance of their face isn’t something I take lightly. But the ability of being able to correct client’s concerns and being able to put a smile on their face. That’s what I love about an aesthetic nurse injector.
