Could a strong blow to the breast the day after bi-lateral breast augmentation cause permanent damage
Trauma after breast augmentation surgery
Jan 22, 2016
Hi Sue -Hopefully, you have already seen your plastic surgeon and had an in-person exam. I sincerely hope that you have not had any injury to your breast or to the implant itself. At that time, your surgeon can discuss the results of your ultrasound. If your plastic surgeon set it up ahead of time, you should have cosmetic health insurance to help cover any costs of dealing with postoperative complications. It is something that I provide for all of my patients. My best…
How many ccs would I need to go from AA to full B cup?
breast volume and bra size
Jan 11, 2016
Your question is a really good one. Bra companies, unfortunately, label bras by a letter and number system. a 34 B, for example, would be different from one company to the next. Why? The bra company does not label the bra with how wide the breast is on the chest, nor does it label the bra for how tall the breast is. Thus, a 34B from Chantelle is very different from a 34B by Natori.By saying you are looking for a “full B”, implies that you are looking to be…
How many vials of Juvederm do you think I need?
Tear trough fillers
Jan 9, 2016
Although Juvederm can be used for this indication, I prefer a softer hyaluronic acid product, such as Belotero. The injection amounts to start are usually small, and would likely be less than 1 syringe. I expect that you would have a very nice result in contour, although the dark color may require addition of a topical agent to smooth coloration. I hope that this answers you question, and best wishes for the New Year.
Is it possible that the doc over dilutes Botox?
Botox results
Nov 19, 2015
Thank you so much for your question Valeria. There are a couple of things to consider here. The first is the skill of the physician injecting the neuromodulator. Regardless of the dilution, the number of active units of the drug is the most important component of neuromodulation. Increased dilution is helpful when injecting smaller amounts over a greater surface area, and when migration is a welcome effect. In order to find the expertise you desire, I would…
What is the best bra to sleep in that provides good lateral support?
How to identify a supportive bra
Sep 30, 2015
Thank you so much for your question. I answer this question a lot, both for women with breast augmentation, as well as for women seeking breast reduction. To understand the answer, I started making bras myself. Below I will share what I have learned with you.The support of the bra mainly comes from the band itself. Less of the support comes from the cup, and almost none of the support should come from the strap. While you are healing from a surgery, you will…
What are the risks with respect to keloid forming after a tummy tuck?
keloid after tummy tuck
Sep 14, 2015
Your question is a good one. Many people are confused between keloid scars and hypertrophic scars. Keloid scars grow outside of the boundaries of the prior area of injury. Hypertrophic scars may be thickened, but are limited to the area of the prior incision. It sounds as if you had a hypertrophic scar. A trained plastic surgeon can help discuss ways to minimize the risk of hypertrophic scar formation after surgery. Kind regards –

Questions for breast augmentation consultation
Sep 1, 2015
Hi Alyssa. Thank you for sharing your concerns. The choice of a plastic surgeon is a difficult one. There are simple things to learn, including the number of years in practice, board certification, and training. Also, you can look at photos of results on similarly shaped women. However, all of this feels very cold and impersonal – yes?Ultimately, your plastic surgeon needs to be your advocate and friend. The surgeon should take into account your wishes in…

Breast Ptosis after Weight Loss
Sep 1, 2015
Hi Sunni!Thank you so much for your question. First, let me congratulate you on your success so far, and your plans to continue your weight loss.A lot of patients worry that if they lose weight, their breasts will become “saggy”. Although it is common for some degree of breast ptosis after weight loss, that is not always the case. The reason is due to the amount of fat as compared to breast glandular tissue. In fact, some patients who lose weight still require breast…
Am I ready for a tummy tuck?
Abdominoplasty – are you a good candidate?
Mar 20, 2015
Dear Hopefulme,Given your photos, it is clear that you have some excess skin over the abdomen. You also have some loosening of the fibers of the muscle of the abdomen. Abdominoplasty will both remove excess skin as well as tighten the muscle layers, creating an “internal girdle” effect. Some of the other issues you may want to consider include, whether your current weight is your goal weight, whether you have excess tissue over the buttock area (in which case a circumferential…
I’m 16 years old with tubular breasts. Will they ever develop normally?
Tubular Breast Disease
Mar 2, 2015
Thank you, Claire, for your important question.Tubular breast disease is a process by which the breast is constricted in its growth. The amount of constriction of the tissues can vary from minor to severe. Unfortunately, this problem will not go away on its own. There are surgical procedures to help correct tubular breasts, which include some release of tissue which is constricting the breast, with or without placement of an implant. The choice of surgical treatment would be one…
Breast Implants and breast feeding: Is it safe for the baby?
Breast feeding after breast augmentation
Feb 17, 2015
Thank you so much for this important question. If you can breast feed, there is no increased risk to the baby from the silicone of the breast implant. It is safe to do, and the collustrum provided in breast milk is one way to boost your baby’s immune system. However, some breast augmentation surgery techniques may damage the milk duct system. If that is the case for you, or you are just having trouble breastfeeding, there are alternatives. You may want to speak with…
What Bra size will I be?
Bra size
Dec 19, 2014
This is a complicated question, but one that I am asked frequently. In order to understand the answer, first you need to know a little bit more about how bras are made. There are 4 major components to a bra:1. Band size. This is based on the circumference that you measure around your chest under the breasts. 2. Cup size. Most bra companies base this on the difference between the circumference of the chest under the armpit and the circumference of the breast…
Little tiny sixth finger in an adult. Is there any safe way to remove them?
Polydactyly
Dec 17, 2014
Polydactyly is a common problem, and can be addressed regardless of age. A plastic surgeon trained in hand surgery, or a board-certified hand surgeon would be well qualified to address your problem. My best wishes to you in the new year.
