You are very early in your postoperative period. Asymmetry is very common at this point in time. First bite syndrome 3 weeks after face and neck lift.

It is not uncommon to have some discomfort after a facelift with mastication; depending on the type of facelift done. Some facelifts use a suture to tighten the underlying SMAS layer and the suture is tied to the deep temporalis fascia, which is over a muscle of mastication. This discomfort should dissipate over time and generally is never a long-term issue. Patients should remain on a soft diet during the early postoperative period until pain subsides. Good luck. Zygoma reduction has caused volume loss and face to sag, would a facelift fix this?

It is difficult to give advice without a photograph or a clinical examination. But the reduction of your zygoma may have produced midface ptosis due to detachment of the overlying soft tissues. This could possibly be fixed with a midface lift. This would be done through intraoral and temporal incisions. Face lift incision looks very bumpy and skin seems “bunched up” together?

It is normal to have irregularities around the sideburn area after a facelift. This is an area that is gathered to allow skin removal during the procedure. These generally will improve dramatically over the first few weeks after the procedure. Your recovery should not be much different with the face and browlift versus a facelift alone. You will have swelling around the eyes, but not as bad of an effect on vision as with a blepharoplasty. Most patients feel pretty good about their appearance in 3-4 weeks. Cold compresses with head elevation helps with swelling. Follow your surgeon’s recommendations and you should do well. Good luck. I believe you would benefit from either a limited incision facelift with fat transfer or a midface lift. Both of these will improve your mandibular jowls. I believe a sliding genioplasty will give you the best outcome for what you are asking. You can lengthen the face as well as advance the chin. I personally do not believe the surgical recovery is that much different from a chin implant. The risks are generally the same. An advancement genioplasty could be a option for you vs an implant. This would further improve your jawline and neck form. This is done through an intraoral incision where the bone is cut and advanced. A small titanium bone plate is used to hold things in place for healing. You are still early in the post op period and there may be some swelling causing your issues. Turbinate treatment may be an option and I am not familiar with the British medical care system.
