Is 365cc big enough? Breast lift is out of the question.
Implant selection
May 15, 2017
First of all, I would completely agree based on your photographs that you should not need a mastopexy (breast lift) and augmentation alone should be fine for you. When it comes to implant sizing, however, it is hard to determine if a 365 cc implant would be right for you or not from photos alone. Implant selection is based on measurements of your breasts and chest wall as well as on your specific goals regarding cup size and projection. Those are questions that your surgeon can answer. Based...
Post op bra size?
Postop bra size
Feb 15, 2017
Every surgeon will recommend postoperative breast supportive garments according to the surgery they performed and the expected recovery. I typically will use a supportive wrap in the first week that can be adjusted based on postoperative swelling and then transition to a sports bra at one to two weeks postoperatively. There is a great local store in my town that will obtain precise breast measurements for cup size and order the most appropriately sized bra based on that. If you...
Culture confirmed infection in breast after augmentation, what now?
Superficial incision infection/Spit sutures
Feb 15, 2017
On occasion, the absorbable sutures that are used to close your incisions may work their way out of the skin before they are fully dissolved. This will expose the superficial layers of the breast skin and tissues underneath to bacteria and possible infection. The bad news with this is that it will take longer to heal and will typically result in a wider and less aesthetically pleasing scar. In a worst case scenario, the infection can move deeper and infect the implant necessitating a return...
Itchy around areola 11 months post up BA, is this normal?
Hypertrophic scarring, more information might be useful
Feb 15, 2017
Judging from the pictures, it would appear that you have some hypertrophic scarring around the right areola. At 11 months, typically any absorbable suture material should be fully dissolved so I doubt it would be a reaction to suture material this far out. It does look as if you have more volume and fullness superiorly on the left breast than the right. Some more information would be helpful in answering your question. An additional photo with you lifting your breasts so the...
Is infection after insertion of breast implants (few days) a sign that ALCL may occur in the next years?
Risk for ALCL
Dec 8, 2016
Breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) remains a very rare entity and of the known cases, infection is not a known cause. As other surgeons have noted, low grade infections or inflammation around an implant can lead to a capsule contracture (tightening of the scar tissue capsule around the implant) but not ALCL. ALCL is associated with textured surface implants and typically presents as a late (several years postoperative) seroma or fluid collection around...
1.5 weeks post op - do they look like they are bottoming out/saggy? Will they get saggier?
Sagging/Bottoming out 1.5 weeks postop
Dec 8, 2016
The position looks reasonable given that you are so recently out from surgery. Make sure you are following your surgeon's recommendations for wearing supporting garments and activity level. Healing time, reduction in swelling, implant settling and capsule formation around the implants will take several months, so try not to worry too much about how things look this soon out from surgery. If you are very concerned in spite of this, set up a followup appointment with your surgeon so they...
Do I need mini tummy tuck? Full or extended?
Mini versus standard tummy tuck
Dec 6, 2016
There is a fair amount of debate within the plastic surgery community over how to approach a tummy like yours. On the one hand, you appear to have maintained a nice hourglass shape and your rectus abdominis muscles (aka "abs") don't appear to be widely separated. On the other, though, you can get better flattening and contour of the entire abdomen if you address it along its entire length. To fully assess this, though, your surgeon would need to do a physical examination. In your...
How long after having a tummy tuck can I start doing sit ups/crunches?
Time to return to core exercises after tummy tuck
Dec 6, 2016
For my patients, I usually tell them to wait 6 weeks until a return to core musculature exercises (crunches/sit ups, yoga, etc) and to begin very slowly when they do. If there is any pain at all in the midline of the tummy then back off of those exercises and give yourself a few more weeks to heal. Wearing a gently compressive support garment over the tummy as you return to exercising can help somewhat as well. Hope you're feeling well and are pleased with your results!
I want a D small DD with nice cleavage but will it look too big for my profession?
Is a D - DD right for you?
Dec 5, 2016
Regarding whether or not the size is right for your profession will depend mostly on your aesthetic goals and how full you want to be. What is right for you will depend on what you feel is beautiful. Selection of implant size will depend largely on the measurements of your chest taken during your consultation and your goal cup size. You have a very small frame based on your height and weight and your photos, so those implant sizes sound a bit large to me, but your surgeon...
