Good Question! It really all depends on the time required in surgery and your state of health and surgical risk factors. If the combined procedures can be done in a reasonable time (6-8 hours), and you’re in good health, then it would be okay to do so. Anything more than 6-8 hours i would advise doing it in separate procedures.

Its difficult to tell exactly what is going on from the photos, but it seems if you had done something to disrupt the internal sutures the pain would’ve lasted for more than 15 minutes. Also, if you did something that caused bleeding, I would expect more swelling and bruising.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Its difficult to tell without examining you, but based on height and weight I think you would do well to try to lose a little more weight prior to surgery. It would be important to know what your goal weight is, and then try to get within 15-20 lbs of that. Thanks for the question. Because of the muscle repair you will have to limit core muscle workouts/activity for 6-8 weeks after surgery. I think it is safe to resume light cardio as soon as you feel comfortable to do so; usually within 2 weeks of surgery. Heavy lifting is acceptable 6-8 weeks postoperatively but it is important to start slowly and listen to your body- back off if you’re feeling moderate to severe discomfort. Follow your surgeons instructions of course, but generally I encourage patients to get active as soon as possible. In the first week or so the goal should be getting full range of motion and light cardio. After two weeks you may return to the gym and start light weights, resuming normal workouts at 3-4 weeks. Liposuction can be performed on patients who smoke. You are at a slightly increased risk for complications from anesthesia and surgery, but overall smoking is not as problematic when doing liposuction compared to something like a tummy tuck or breast lift where circulation to the skin is compromised. And there are many smoking cessation programs offered by hospitals around the country- don’t try to do it alone. Good luck.

Im sorry you had this experience. The only way to make a procedure pain free is with adequate anesthesia- either general anesthesia, or heavy sedation with infiltration of local anesthesia. Neither one of these would be safe to perform in a consultation room as you described. I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon. good luck.

Great question. Its hard to tell just from the pictures, but it looks like you would be a candidate for a tummy tuck. Liposuction will not treat the skin laxity, and could possibly make it worse. From your photo it does not seem to be a difficult revision, especially after having 3 children. Ask friends for recommendations, look at reviews, and ask to see photos of the surgeons work. You should be able to find someone very able to assist you in your area. Good luck

Thanks for sharing your photos. Non surgical therapies may offer some improvement to the buttocks and thighs. Without the benefit of an exam, you appear to be an excellent candidate for a spiral thigh lift. This surgery lifts the buttock and thighs all the way around. It would be a one time procedure and the results would be longer lasting than nonsurgical options.
