Great question. Allow me to assist with a few definitions to understand more about the technique and what may be best for your case.
High Definition Liposuction is the technique we originated here in Colombia and as pioneers this technique has been the gold standard for high definition abdominal and pectoral etching around the world.
With that said the SMART lipo or laser assisted lipolysis has its pros and cons just as any instrument does however…

How far along are you post-op? Based on your photos it appears you still have inflammation and asymmetry.
For all cases at my practice we prefer you wait at least 6 to 12 months to see final results. The soft tissues and cartilage have memory and it is too soon to judge what the outcome will be from the rib cartilage used for the procedure.
I do not recommend silicone of any kind however fillers such as Hyaluronic Acid can be utilized to treat the asymmetry…

1. The ultrasound of your abdomen is a wise choice before scheduling the surgery. One of the principal safety concerns we have as plastic surgeons is to minimize risks.
2. Depending on the size of hernia the risk of the cannula entering into that plane is increased no matter how careful one may be during the procedure. It may be best to have the hernia repaired before the abdominal etching or liposuction surgery.

This is a procedure we perform a lot here in Colombia and one of the biggest factors to obtain optimal results is to ensure that the etching is not extremely deep to avoid the “Fake Abs” look.
