I'm 22 year old. Am I candidate for upper eyelid blepharoplasty?
I'm 22 year old. Am I candidate for upper eyelid blepharoplasty?
Aug 3, 2014
While 22 is early for a blepharoplasty, you may consider a crease procedure which creates a soft cease without removing any tissue. You may also be a candidate for an internal browpexy to elevate and stabilize the tail of your brow without a brow lift procedure.
Do you need to be put under anesthesia for fat harvesting to the face?
Fat Grafting to the Face
Aug 3, 2014
Small volumes of fat transfer, such as to the face, can be safe and effective when performed with local and topical anesthesia.
What is the extra skin above my eyes and how can it be corrected?
Non-surgical Ultrasonic Upper Lid Rejuvenation
Jul 20, 2014
Since you are 22 and have a 2-3 mm fold above your eye shadow space, I would not recommend surgery which you mention you "really don't want a blepharoplasty". It is not related to weight loss or weight gain, but occurs over time based on your family traits. I would recommend an excellent upper lid cream called D-E-J that can help your upper lids without surgery. Our office can send you the cream. After 2-3 months, if you continue to have a small fold, Ultrasonic tightening can be performed...
What is the correct technique when measuring the upper eyelid before surgery?
Measure Twice Cut Once
Jun 20, 2014
In order to remove the ideal amount of upper lid skin, fine measurements are taken before and during surgery with a caliper so that 8-10 mm can be preserved above the lashes at the highest part of the eyeshadow space. The upper incision is measured from the lower part of the brow and ranges from 10 - 15 mm. This ensures that enough skin is removed and equal amounts of skin, especially in patients that have more skin on one side. 1.McCord,
CD and MA Codner. Eyelid Surgery: Principles and...
Can Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty reduce the appearance of tear trough?
Tear Trough
Jun 15, 2014
Dear Cheonsadiana, The groove on your cheek is a malar groove and the trough under the inner corner of your eye is a tear trough. Transconjunctival fat removal will not improve the malar groove. Either filler or surgery to release the deep ligaments causing this groove will permanently improve both or filler can help for a year or so. The surgery can be performed transconjunctivally but need to do more that just remove fat which will make both worse.Sincerely, Mark Codner, MD...
19 year old saline implants removal. Can you give me your opinions, based on my photos, what procedure(
Saline Implant Removal
May 24, 2014
I would recommend removing the saline implants without draining them before surgery. You have minimal grade ptosis and if you want to end up a D cup, given the size of your implants, you will need a minimal lift and reduction to make you perky. Mark Codner, MDAtlanta
Is It Safe to Have a Septorhinoplasty at Age 16?
IS IT SAFE TO HAVE A SEPTORHINOPLASTY AT AGE 16?
Oct 10, 2013
Septorhinoplasty is commonly performed at age 16 and this is a perfectly safe age to undergo a septorhinoplasty or a “nose job.” The skeletal maturity has occurred and typically the nose has achieved its near final shape by age 16. There are some advantages to having a nose job before going off to college and 16 to 18 is a perfectly appropriate time to undergo septorhinoplasty.

I typically would not recommend having septorhinoplasty younger than 15 in order to give the...

What Brow Lift Should I Get if I Have Thinning Forehead Skin and Severe Drooping Brows with Hooded E
WHAT BROW LIFT SHOULD I GET IF I HAVE THINNING FOREHEAD SKIN AND SEVERE DROOPING BROWS WITH HOODED EYELIDS?
Oct 10, 2013
There are a number of different brow lifts that range from a coronal incision that goes above the head from the top of the ear to the top of the ear. In my opinion, this is the largest scar and, although can create one of the most effective results, is associated with a visible scar, particularly if there is thin hair, as well as numbness. If someone has severe drooping of the brows and a high hairline, the scar is usually placed just along the hairline and can accomplish two...
Under the Muscle Implants to Cause Retouching? To Wait or Not to Wait if It's Years Away...
UNDER-THE-MUSCLE IMPLANTS TO CAUSE RE-TOUCHING?
Oct 10, 2013
If you have had breast augmentation and have waited a full year, the implants most likely have settled into their final position. If an implant is under the muscle, there will likely be movement of the breast implant during exercise or if the chest muscle is flexed. This is not an indication to have revision surgery.

However, if the implant shape is visible through the skin and breast tissue with either rippling or asymmetry, touch-up may be indicated to improve the...

Can Breast Asymmetry Be Fixed with JUST an Augmentation; No Lift on Larger Side?
CAN BREAST ASYMMETRY BE FIXED WITH JUST AN AUGMENTATION?
Oct 10, 2013
Breast asymmetry is very common. In fact, most women do not have perfectly symmetrical breasts. The amount of asymmetry is what is noticed by most patients. Generally speaking, there needs to be at least a 50 gram difference between the two breasts in order to be able to see asymmetry between the breasts, assuming the nipples are at similar position.

The larger breast typically will also have a lower nipple, so that sometimes lifting of the nipple is required in...

Mommy Makeover - Liposuction on Thighs Too??????
MOMMY MAKEOVER – LIPOSUCTION ON THIGHS, TOO?
Oct 10, 2013
When a woman has had children and desires to have improvement of her figure, the most common procedures performed may include liposuction on the thighs, as well as a breast lift and abdominoplasty.
