In 2004, Dr. Yazıcı, who received his Plastic Surgery Specialization in 2004, worked as a Research Fellow in the Plastic Surgery / Microsurgery Department of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the United States for 1 year and 3 months between 2004-2005. During this period, he published many original articles. Among them are the first in vivo applications on bony face transplantation, upper jaw and tooth transplants with preserved nutrition. In addition to face transplantation, he gained experience in microcirculation, tissue freezing techniques and experimental neurosurgery. He worked as a freelance physician for 1 year between 2005-2006. In 2007, he completed his military service at GATA Haydarpaşa Hospital. Between 2008-2013 (including a period in 2006), he worked as a faculty member in the field of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Kırıkkale University Faculty of Medicine. He actively trained assistants and students as well as continuing his surgical services.

Dr. İlker Yazıcı has experience and foreground interest in microsurgical reconstruction. In 2012, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He was entitled to receive a diploma in Hand Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Subspecialties by the Ministry of Health.
