Dr. Niro completed his bachelor’s and medical degrees from King’s College London and University College London, respectively, and worked across a variety of surgical specialties but focussed on plastic and burns surgery, and on head and neck reconstruction. This was followed by a 2-year higher fellowship in general cosmetic surgery in Australia, and then a 2-year ‘super-specialty’ surgical fellowship in cosmetic penile surgery.

Multiple postgraduate qualifications in general surgery, cosmetic surgery, and aesthetic medicine, were gained in America, Australia, Britain, and France. Botulinum toxins may be used to soften (relax) the platysmal bands of the neck; however, they are not going to effect an improvement for loose or sagging skin (esp. after weight-loss, and given your age and ethnicity). Such symptoms in the first days after treatment may reasonably be attributed to the neurotoxin (Xeomin in this case); however, extremely unlikely at six months. It may be an idea to see a general physician/ family practitioner to have a check-up, including reviewing your blood pressure, and do also consider seeing an optometrist (in case your symptoms are related to you needing to wear spectacles/ having a change of visual prescription).

There is no substitute to a clinical (in-person) examination; however based on your spiel and photos, my comments are: (1) Yes, significant use of Botox to masseters may worsen the facial contours of the lower-third; however, step-wise and reasonably conservative use would be fine and should allow you to evaluate in a sequential fashion; (2) I agree that you have downturned corners of your mouth, but it also appears that you have early/ evolving Marionette lines (melomental grooves)….

Yes, you do have Marionette lines. The simple answer would be to add filler to the areas of your concern; however, it appears (from your photos) that you already have a reasonable amount of filler in various areas of your face, and I do ‘not’ think it is aesthetically pleasing to continue to add filler.

I’m sorry to read that you’re feeling unwell and are worried. Botox injected into your lower forehead region (to address ’11 lines’) would ‘not’ cause the symptoms you’re describing (i.e. there’s no direct relationship between injecting between the eyebrows and “numbness/in [sic] my swelling feeling in the back of [your] tongue and throat”. Importantly, have you spoken with your MD about your concerns?
