This is a very common question during most tummy tuck consults. The answer would depend on if your surgeon used drains or not. Drains can help collect the fluid that naturally builds up after skin excision and liposuction. They would typically be removed after 1-2 weeks. I would suggest consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Most patients are able to return to light duty work after 2-3 weeks.

Hi there and thank you for your question. Preventing keloids from forming can be very challenging. Specifically look for a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss with him/her steps that can be taken to prevent keloids or help the incisions heal well. Steroid injections may be helpful in some cases. It is also important to avoid UV exposure and to use silicone based scar cream during the postoperative peroid.

I usually combined my facelift with laser resurfacing . This is a fantastic and safe way to rejuvenate the skin in addition to addressing the deeper structures of the face.

I am generally skeptic when it comes to mini facelift since this procedure only address the skin and the deeper tissue . The skin unfortunately sag again in 2-3 years after the procedures.
