I’ve had two consults with different outcomes, do I need a lift or not?
Consultation for breast lift with augmentation
Jul 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. In order for you to achieve a natural breast shape you will require a mastopexy (breast lift.)Your nipples are well below your infra-mammary fold, and at the end of your breast mound – this is referred to as third degree breast ptosis. The best result would be achieved with an augmentation and breast lift. A lift alone will change the shape of your breast, but will not alter the fullness. I believe you would be very happy with a small to medium size…
How Long Does a Broken Nose Take to Heal?
How long for broken nose to heal?
Jul 16, 2015
Assuming your nose does not require a closed reduction (any form of straightening,) full bone healing takes approximately 6 weeks. Your nose is extremely fragile during this time period, especially the first two weeks. If you should experience any further nasal trauma during this time there is a possibilty the nasal fracture will become more severe, and the nasal bones themselves may shatter.
If I do not have documentation of the previous times my nose has been broken (5), will my ins
Recommendation from double boarded plastic surgeon and ENT about broken nose
Jul 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to say if your insurance company will cover your breathing difficulties secondary to your broken nose or not. The easiest way to find out is to telephone them and ask. Also, be sure to ask what documentation they require, and if you are covered if you see surgeons in and out of network. The ENT surgeon you are visiting will perform a complete nasal examination, which will reveal your degree of septal deviation. This will probably be…
I have red and enlarged scars by ear after facelift. What should I do about these scars? (Pho
Facelift Scars
Jul 15, 2015
Thank you for your question.Hypertrophic or keloid scarring may occur after facelift surgery but can easily be corrected. Scar revision often accompanied by steroid injection provides an excellent result. However, it is best to wait for the scars to soften (usually close to one year) before revision is undertaken. I recommend following up with your plastic surgeon to discuss these options.Sincerely,Rondi Kathleen Walker, MD

Nasal Fracture while Boxing
Jul 15, 2015
Thank you for your question.I agree with Dr. Weber. If you are still continuing with boxing, you should wait before considering septorhinoplasty. Though you say you have not experienced breathing difficulties, later problems may arise. A septoplasty may be indicated at the same time as a rhinoplasty. Fees range from about $5000-$10000, but most surgeons will agree that further examination of the injury is necessary before an exact quote may be given. I wish you luck with your…
Wondering why my breast feels so tight and what can I do to help the swelling go down?
Excessive Breast Swelling
Jul 15, 2015
Thank you for your question. Please telephone your surgeon and forward photographs of your breasts to him or her. Based off of your description it sounds as though you may have a post operative hematoma, which is easily treated. Your surgeon should refer you to a local plastic surgery colleague for further evaluation of your symptoms. Sincerely,Rondi Kathleen Walker, MD
Would nose surgery fix my problem?
Difference in Nostril Shape
Jul 15, 2015
Thank you for your question. Some degree of nasal asymmetry is normal. Depending on the aesthetic appearance and interference with your breathing, the degree of surgery necessary for correction will vary. It is possible that you may not need a surgical correction. It is difficult to give you an expert opinion without a complete nasal examination or at least a full set of nasal photographs. `I would be pleased to help you further if you are able to provide a full set of photographs…
Are there any docs who regularly do dermis-fat grafts for the face?
Dermal Fat Grafts
Oct 6, 2014
I perform dermal fat grafts in conjunction with scar revisions or face lift procedures. It is an excellent way to provide volume where skin is extremely adherent secondary to scar formation or fat loss. My preference is structural fat grafting, but often there is a need of durable dermis to repair the defect.Good luck! Always find a board certified plastic surgeon.Dr. Walker
Can I get my medical insurance to pay for my breast augmentation?
Breast Assymetry and Insurance Coverage
Jun 30, 2014
Thank you for your question. Insurance coverage for breast assymetry has become increasingly difficult to obtain. Your concerns are legitimate, and you would benefit from an augmention and a mastopexy or breast lift on the opposite breast. It is, however worth a try – with a letter from your referring physician to your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon submitted along with the correct surgical and diagnostic codes to the insurance company prior to surgery for pre…
Which would you recommend; a Tummy Tuck or a Liposuction?
Children, Multiple Procedure and Exercise
Jun 24, 2014
Thank you for sharing your photographs.I would not recommend traveling out of the country for an extensive procedure. If you should have a complication or require additional surgery it becomes problematic. My recommendation is to have an extended “tummy – tuck ” performed first. I find that most patients are very motivated after a “tummy – tuck” and lose additional weight. After four to six months I would address other body contouring issues ( hips, thights) with liposuction and…
Is it better to have a Fat Transfer at the same time as Neck Lift Revision surgery or separat
Lower Face Lift and Fat Grafting after extensive Liposuction of the Neck
Apr 21, 2014
Thank you for your question. Without a proper examination it is difficult to give you a proper opinion. In general, I tend to perform fat augmentation at the same time as a face lift. If additional volume is required, I bring the patient back to my office and perform a small touch up procedure at no additional surgical fee. The neck – after extensive liposuction, however, is a difficult area and must be addressed on a case by case basis. I would be delighted to see…
Can I have opinions on fat graft techniques for neck and face?
Fat Grafting of the Neck: After Neck Liposuction and Lift
Feb 24, 2014
Thank you for your question.Fat grafting of the neck after a surgical procedure may be performed, but it requires technical expertise and fat the is optimal for structural fat grafting. The criss-cross technique is the best approach as in all fat grafting procedures. Botox to elongate the eye brow

However, it is difficult to assess your particular problem without a photograph. Most likely you would benefit from Botox treatment.Best of luck, make sure you see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
Can I have a tummy tuck without hernia repair first?

Yes, it is possible to repair an abdominal hernia without performing a “tummy tuck.” However, you would most likely have a long vertical scar around your belly button. So, if you are considering a tummy tuck anyway, it makes the most sense to have your hernia repaired though a hidden abdominoplasty incision.Thank you for your question and best of luck!
