With the type of job you have I usually ask the patient for stay away from heavy lifting for 2-3 weeks after augmentation. Good support to the implants is important. It does make a difference on implants above or below the pectoralis muscle. I hope this helps because each operation has its own differences. I would get this aspect of your recovery from your surgeon.

I like to use two different garments after Cellulaze. The first is to minimize swelling and bruising. This garment is tighter but not strangulating so as to decrease swelling in the feet and ankles. Then I switch to Spanx as I start the lymphatic drainage one to two days after the treatment. Spanx, when properly fitted, gives good support. I remove all the compression after two weeks.

What is the Best Type of Compression Garment to Wear Following Cellulaze? Are Spanx Firm Enough?

I find that Spanx garments give very good support after Cellulaze when it is fitted properly. I use a slightly tighter garment right after the procedure but switch to Spanx as we start the lymphatic massage one to two days after the treatment. Thank you.

My Implant Warranty Was Denied?

I have not found this to be the usual case. Allergan has always stood behind the products. In Houston we are blessed with very good reps that "go the extra mile". I would not give up be persistant.

Infection? Couldn't they have cleaned the pocket and put in a new one?

I would agree that antibiotics are a good first choice but when an implant is exposed it usually means that the best course is to remove it. There are some recent studies where the breast pocket is "chemically sterilized" with antiobiotic solution but this has limited success. This is a decision that you and your physician would have to make. Thanks you.

Seeing that you have had such complete evaluation prior to this time I don't think you have any worries. I always ask patients to obtain a short note from their cardiologist to state they are ok for the general anesthesia. A copy of the note is sent to the board certified anesthesiologist prior to the day of surgery so there are no problems the morning of surgery and any tests that would be needed.

For a "sudden" enlargement of the breast after augmentation many years ago you would need fluid build up around the breast implant. Blood would be the most likely. If the breast is not red and swollen infection is unlikely. This is a case where you need to see your plastic surgeon for examination. Any tests would be determined at that time.

If you had a drain with your procedure from that site it can be something that needs more attention.
