In order to perform an eyebrow transplant, hair follicles are extracted from the donor area and implanted on the receiving one. Even though thanks to the latest techniques the scarring of the donor area is minimal, using your own eyebrow hair as a donor area would still lead to visible scarring on your eyebrow area after the procedure and long after the recovery period. Extracting hair from that zone or from the face in general is also considered not safe so I would personally not suggest it.

As a specialist of the field, I perform eyebrow transplant procedures every day and I can say that most of the patients who come to my clinic for a procedure have already had a tattooed brow. It is true that the ink might define the area where the grafts are implanted, but if the eyebrow transplant is done with the procedure and from a specialist’s hands, you won’t have to worry about the ink underneath the implanted hair.

Hello. You need to be clear about the difference between the concept of graft and follicle. A hair follicle is a unit that is extracted from the donor area, which can have 2-4 grafts/hair. If the eyebrow transplant is done with a DHI procedure, all these follicles are implanted as they are, which means that all those grafts grow in groups of 2-4, all in different directions.
