Longevity of donut breast lift: what should I expect in 10 years?
breast lift variations
Feb 17, 2022
Thank you for your question Caring934104 as this brings up a great topic of discussion. It seems your concerns are tightening your breasts with minimal scar burden. Although difficult to assess with limitations of photography it seems your breasts are somewhat elongated with what you state is grade 1 ptosis. Again without measurements and a physical exam to evaluation tissue and ligamentous quality it is difficult to provide definitive answer. I rarely perform donut mastopexies because they…
For Breast Implant Illness, what removal is best?
Surgeon preference
Feb 1, 2022
Thank you for your insightful question. Board certified plastic surgeons are adept to performing an explantation procedure. Typically the approach is through the inframammary fold. Capsulectomy whether partial or complete will be at the discretion of your surgeon and dependent on your physical exam, implant location, and safety concerns. A recent study (peer reviewed, double blinded) posted by the research arm of our aesthetic society (ASERF) and spearheaded by female plastic surgeons…
Will fluctuating 10-20 pounds yearly ruin my lipo results?
Weight changes after body contouring
Nov 8, 2021
Thank you for your question. Lipo 360 has gained popularity given people are interested in contouring both front, back, and sides. It can address back rolls, muffin tops, and hips/flanks and the extracted fat can be processed and placed in other areas in need of augmentation. That being said we definitely tell patients the results may vary with weight fluctuations. Long term predictability is diminished. Also stretching your skin and it’s underlying ligaments will definitely affect long t…

Body balance
Oct 23, 2021
It’s always difficult to pin point the exact cc’s during a primary breast augmentation. The apps are helpful tools to assist in simulation but really don’t account for skin compliance, chest wall asymmetry and how your native breast tissue will respond to a structural implant. Height and weight and chest wall are important in determining final size. I work with a patient to find out there goals and try to achieve the best body balance with implant (in terms of width and profile) and somet…
Had Botox into my mouth for tmj – is it possible that it could change the shape of my face? (p
TMJ treatment with tox
Oct 23, 2021
Thank you for your question. Toxin to the lower border of the masseter muscle works great to alleviate teeth clenching/grinding associated with TMJ. We also use it to slim the lower face for a more heart shaped appearance. It does wear off and given you were dosed at a lower typical dose should not leave you with any permanent changes.
What can I do to minimize the appearance of my banana rolls due to sedentary lifestyle? (photo
Getting rid of the rolls
Sep 28, 2021
Dear SirenOccults,I agree with comments made by my colleagues. Your best bet is weight loss. Some people benefit from a nutritionist or visit with a bariatric surgeon to assist with weight loss. I would not recommend any elective procedure at this point. In general we don’t lipo banana rolls given its an area that could cause lower buttock collapse. Once you optimize your weight goals, I would consult with a qualified physician to optimize a treatment plan.
Am I a good candidate for chin/jawline Liposuction? I’m 51 years old Hispanic female.
ReJawvenation with elimination of double chin
Sep 15, 2021
Thank you for your question. Dynamic views and physical exam would be very helpful From the photos it appears you are a good candidate for the Embrace procedure. Your skin quality appears adequate in photos but given your age, lipo alone may fail to get you an optimal result. I offer patients EmbraceRF which is a non-surgical treatment which addresses jowling, the jawline, and the neck area. It involves liposuction, RFAL with an energy based device to tighten skin (facetite probe), followed…
Is it safe to get a facial one day after getting Botox in the forehead, 11s, and crows feet?
Do’s and Dont’s afer toxin to face
Sep 15, 2021
This is a great question. 24 hours allows safe return to activities after facial. I counsel my patients that on the day of the injection, to not workout afterwards or rub the face (for 4 hours). They can wash their face gently at night. You can fly after toxin but would wait 2-4 hours. Most importantly, no inversions or massages for 24 hours as this has shown to cause displacement of toxin which is placed very specifically in key locations and dosed for these various locations. Toxin and…
Is this back fat or loose skin? I am wondering if I would be a good candidate for liposuction.
Get rid of the bra rolls
Sep 15, 2021
Thank you for the question. The photos are limited but it appears you have good skin quality (tone) that will respond well to lipo. My patients are very satisficed with lipo in this area as this overhang can be annoying. A also offer my patients energy based technology paired with lipo to optimize skin contraction (RFAL with with Bodytite and Liposuction). Either way you are a good candidate for back contouring with liposuction.
Will breast implants give upper pole fullness loss from pregnancy and give me a minor nipple l
Restore you best breasts after pregnancy
Sep 15, 2021
Thank you for question. Based on limited views it appears you will need a lift with an implant if your interested in optimizing upper pole fullness and being larger. The lift would best “tighten” the breast or make it more compact and center it over the implant. Some tissue is often removed from the bottom of the breast to “de-weight” the breast and again get it better positioned over the implant. The implant will provide structural upper pole fullness. I also offer an auto-augmentation to…
Spitting stitches and open wounds? Will be three weeks post op Monday.
delayed wound healing
Aug 19, 2021
Depending on the type of suture used, 3-4 weeks may be the peak of the inflammatory phase of wound healing. As noted, this is not uncommon after large excisional surgeries especially where a horizontal and vertical scar meet. I typically advise patients to perform local wound care given any additional trauma to the area at this time will impede wound healing even more. It should be monitored by your surgeon. I do not offer any scar revisions until at least 9 months after surgery when the…
How do I reduce nostril flaring without decreasing upper teeth exposure?
taming the nostrils
Aug 10, 2021
Given your age and helpful photos, it seems your main issue is nostril positioning or widening with animation. At rest, the nostrils sit in better proportion. I would suggest a non surgical approach as you lip length ratios are in good proportion. The nasalis muscle is a sphincteric like muscle that can cause nostril flaring in certain individuals. An experienced injector can place their toxin of choice in the targeted muscle to relax the flaring during expressive movements. It is hard to…
Can you avoid fat loss with Morpheus8?
full facial rejuvenation
Jul 27, 2021
Morpheus8 can provide fractional remodeling of the dermis which increases collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin breakdown occurs in everyone and is accelerated after age 40. Morpheus is the only RF microneedling technology that is ablative since each pin is charged and separately grounded provided more precise energy. Each tip delivers precise and uniform energy for 3-d bulk heating to help with skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, fine lines, and texturing. Your provider can adjust…
Is it better to start Botox young?
Never too young
Jul 27, 2021
Botox is a brand of neuromodulaters that helps relax wrinkles. These chemical wrinkle relaxers are FDA approved for several areas but overall very safe when administered by an experienced licensed injector. They do work best on dynamic areas of motion and prevent static wrinkles from forming. Therefore, there is not an exact age when treatment is recommended as it depends on your skin quality and pull of the muscles on your overlying skin. I am cautious with botox around the mouth or…
Do I need more filler?
Align your goals with your provider
Nov 22, 2015
There are many “fillers” on the market. Most providers prefer Hyaluronic Acid fillers or HA fillers. The main differentiators for HA fillers are: source of HA; concentration of HA in each syringe being utilized; the particulate size of the HA; whether the HA is cross-linked; the type of cross-linking agent used in the HA; whether the HA is monophasic or biphasic; and whether there is an anesthetic in the HA syringe. Belotero is a non-animal, monophasic cross-linked gel. It utilizes…
