Abdominoplasty drains are usually removed between the first and second week postoperative. I usually like to remove them when the drainage is less than 30 ccc/day for 2 days in a row. If you remove them too early then there is a chance of seroma formation. Keeping the drains in too long could certainly lead to infection as the entrance of the drain through the skin is a portal for bacteria to enter the body.Are you a smoker?
