Botox for migraines has caused complete eyelid Ptosis. I am off work until my eye opens — what can I do?
Drops for droopy eyelid
Dec 19, 2017
Hi,
Sorry that happened to you! Every once in a while, even with great technique and respect for anatomy, this can happen. While it generally just needs to run its course (thankfully side effects generally last less long than the beneficial effects of botulinum toxin) you may get some benefit from Iopidine eye drops. Your doctor can prescribe them. They can be a bit irritating but they may help.
Restylane injected in tear ducts and I still have discoloration 16 days later — will this resolve on its
Darkness after restylane
Dec 5, 2017
Hi MaxieLucy,

Sorry this is happening. From your photos it looks like some of the darkness is bruising that is still resolving. That can take a couple of weeks so that part should start to fade. The Tyndall effect creates a bluish Color which I don’t see in your photos.
Sometimes with tear trough injections, the product can attract water and make the area look overfilled and swollen. That may explain the fullness you have closer to your nose on the right and under your left eye. …

What Can I Do to Eliminate my Acne Now?
Accutane Maintenance Sometimes Necessary
Jul 28, 2012
While your 2 courses would have been expected to be very helpful in controlling your acne, they unfortunately weren’t in your case. You and your dermatologist might consider low dose, longer term Accutane maintenance. The low dose limits side effects like dryness (and more serious side effect risk) and may be enough to finally keep your oiliness/acne at bay.
Port Wine Stain on Face and Neck. No Improvement With PDL and IPL?
Port Wine Stain Often a Challenge
Jul 28, 2012
While your doctor may be able to achieve better results using more aggressive settings, scar/injury risk also increases.

Many sessions may be necessary to effect the best possible outcome (even more than you’ve already had)

Sometimes, PWS or a component of it does not respond further to treatment.

While newer technologies may be in development to “reach” these stubborn PWS, PDL is still the best current option for treatment.

How Safe Are Different Types of Lasers?
Medical Lasers are safe and effective but not free from potential complications
Apr 8, 2012
As with any medical procedure (from taking an aspirin to brain surgery), risk is unavoidable. Any medical procedure's risks and benefits must be weighed by doctors and patients alike before consenting to proceed. Lasers have been a boon to many areas of medicine, but none more than aesthetic medicine. The vast majority of patients who undergo these procedures (literally millions of procedures annually in the US and Canada alone) have favourable outcomes…
I Have Many Black Spots on my One Side of Face, What are My Options to Rid of Them?
Freckles can be removed with Nd:Yag Laser
Apr 8, 2012
A Laser like the Q-Switched Nd:Yag laser (e.g. Medlite C6) is effective in removing superficial dermal pigmented lesions like freckles and other sun spots. From your photo and description, however, I am a bit suspicious that these spots may be flat warts, not freckles and, in that case, would not be amenable to laser therapy. Your dermatologist will assess the specific nature of these spots to help decide the best way to get rid of them.
Botox 6 Weeks Ago for Frown Lines and Creases Stay For 1 Hour. How Long Does it Take For it to Wear Off?
Botox usually lasts about 3 months
Apr 8, 2012
Botox works well to soften various types of lines created by muscle motion on the face. In the vast majority of patients, the results are as desired. Unfortunately, as with any procedure, less than desirable outcomes can and do occur. Fortunately, in those instances, the effect of Botox wears off over a period of about 12 weeks. The symptom you're seeing will likely start to soften and resolve over the next few weeks.
