First, please discuss this with your surgeon. Tuberous breast surgeries often require revisions. I am sure your result can be improved. Your surgeon wants you to be happy with the result. Obtain a second or even third opinion if you are not happy with your surgeons recommendations. Patients are often surprised that a second doctor may have the same opinion as their original surgeon.

Please obtain a second opinion from an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon in person. Your current surgeon will probably welcome a second opinion. Double bubbles can be difficult to treat. I personally have successfully treated many and some double bubbles require a mastopexy. No one can guarantee that a double bubble can be fixed.

The most common cause of swelling post operatively is patients removing their compression garments early. I do not allow my patients to remove their garments as long as drains are in place. If you can see swelling, you need to put your compression garment on.

Itching can be the result of a minor reaction to the solution you were prepped with, the narcotics used for your pain, the Cipro, the dressings or compression garment, a yeast infection, and multiple other factors. Please discuss this with your doctor. There is a chance that every surgery may require a revision.

Please discuss this with your surgeon before changing anything you are doing. Two weeks post-op I encourage patients to push themselves to walk upright. One of the exercises I use is asking the patient to stand with their back against the wall with their buttocks pushed against the wall and gradually bringing their shoulders back to touch the wall. It may hurt a little at first. If it is extremely painful, stop and call your doctor.

The timing of drain removal is dependent on multiple factors. Only your surgeon is aware of all of the factors. If you took proper care of the drains and reported the correct amounts of drainage to your surgeon, you were probably ready for drain removal. No surgeon would intentionally remove drains too early because it would only lead to an unhappy patient.

Initially, most patients have pain for 3-5 days. This is followed by intermittent painful muscle spasms for about two weeks. Most patients only have occasional pain after that but it is possible to have prolonged pain. I think it is unlikely that you would have any pain after 4-6 weeks and not even perceive that you had your rectus muscles reapproximated.

Polyurethane implants have not been available in the US for nearly 20 years. No one ever proved conclusively what happened to the polyurethane but my personal experience was that the polyurethane remained in the breast pocket in a soft capsule when the silicone implant and shell was removed. I always left the soft capsule intact and placed a new silicone-shelled implant in the pocket and never had a problem.

Please relax. It is to early to judge your surgery. If this is a standard abdominoplasty it will have little to no effect on your hips and no effect on your butt. Your vagina will improve.

You can keep the deflated implant as long as you wish. Maximum contraction of the breast will occur by approximately six months. The only problem is that your pocket will continue to contract and the implant may become palpable or distort.
