Alar reduction is common procedure to balance the base and tip protection. Usually you planned before surgery but it could be reconsidered after create the final tip projection. Final result of the scar usually is related to patient scar healing and it is more related to genetics than surgical techniques. Columelar retraction could be associated to cartilage or even skin retraction, it is usually no related to alar modifications but it is related to a balance between both of them.
