Answer Snippet
Is tear trough or cheek filler suitable to treat dark under eye?
Under-eye area is complex.
Aug 27, 2023
The under-eye area is very complex. Simply doing tear trough filler on its own is usually not enough. Usually some cheek augmentation is required as well. If that dark circles are caused by changes in skin pigmentation then this won’t be fixed with filler. One could try an eye serum to improve the skin quality. Filler is used to fix volume deficit and sagging – it won’t do anything for hyperpigmentation.
Is it possible for cheek filler to look quite natural? Will 1 cheek break down before the other?
Filler can and should look natural
Aug 17, 2023
Filler, when done properly, should absolutely look natural. However, much like asking someone to paint you a painting, who is doing it matters greatly. I would ask to see before/after photos from your prospective provider so you can get an idea of the types of treatments they do. If they should you multiple photos of patients with a “done” or unnatural look, then I would suggest you find a provider that meshes with your values and expected outcomes. Cheek filler should dissolve relatively…
Why am i still shedding after going through 3 PRP for hair loss treatments?
Hair loss may be multifactorial
Aug 17, 2023
PRP, when successful, should reduce hair thinning and shedding and hopefully increase hair density and calibre. It would be expected that after 3 sessions you should at least have some slowing of hair shedding. However, it also depends on why you have hair shedding. The majority of hair loss and shedding patients have androgenetic alopecia, however there are other causes of hair loss as well and these need to be ruled out by a careful history and evaluation. This is why you need to see a…
When can I do heat treatments (Exilis, HIFU & RF) after Jawtox?
There is no right answer, but it is likely safe.
Aug 17, 2023
There is no one right answer that will be 100% accurate, because there have not been enough studies to prove that it is 100% safe. Therefore no one will give you a completely straight answer. The reality is that neuromodulators get taken up within the muscles within minutes. Having a heat-based or even laser treatment should not effect it. Most people recommend waiting 2ish weeks but this out of abundance of caution and not necessarily based on evidence. It would be best to speak with your…
Saline flush for small bump of superficial filler on lower lip?
Gentle Massage or Hyaluronidase
Aug 17, 2023
If there is unevenness in your lips, and assuming this is caused by your filler treatment and not the natural shape of your lips, then your options would be to massage it out or to dissolve the filler. Once the filler has fully integrated into the tissue then it becomes increasingly difficult to massage it away. Saline flush or “poking it out” would likely not be successful. Do not poke it as you may introduce bacteria into the filler and cause an infection, which would be a much bigger deal…
What fillers would help balance my face?
Profile balancing with filler.
Aug 10, 2023
You have a young face and don’t have a lot of age-related changes such as sagging or folds yet, which is great. However, you can improve the balance of your face by adding more definition to your jawline/chin. By adding more projection to your chin it will take emphasis off of your nose in your side profile, and provide a more balance overall look. This can be done with filler and, if the the best products are used, these results can last up to 2 years.
For filler treatments it is critical…
What are these bumps in my lip filler? Can they be spot dissolved?
Spot dissolving does not work.
Aug 10, 2023
Spot dissolving filler in the lips is not usually successful because once the hyaluronidase is in the lip, it is very difficult (impossible) to control where it spreads. Lip filler should not look lumpy. Sometimes if feeling the lips you can feel lumps of filler inside, but you should never see visible lumps. This is usually the result of suboptimal technique when placing the filler.
