Hello there! At our practice, we like to combine PRP with topical Minoxidil. That being said, MInoxidil benefits will fade if you stop using, so you need to be prepared for long term use. Some of my patients don’t want that “commitment” and opt for PRP only. Combining treatments is a good idea to potentiate results. If you aren’t keen on MInoxidil, consult a provider in your area and learn about other options.

Hello there! From the pictures you sent, it looks like a diffuse pattern of hair loss. The key to determine if PRP is the right treatment for you is to rule out other health conditions that may be causing hair thinning such as thyroid disease, nutritional/vitamin deficiencies, anemia, chronic disease and such. Hello there! There is no contraindication to Minoxidil while on PRP treatment, and in fact treatment combinations tend to produce better results. PRP for hair loss can be effective for androgenic alopecia and alopecia areata in men and women. As long as you are a good candidate to PRP, it can be a great option.

Hello! Pain levels during PRP for hair loss treatment usually stay around 2-3 out of 10. From what you are describing, your doctor used manual injection technique. We assess the adequacy of injection depth by what it looks like where we inject. We should observe pinpoint bleed on each injection point. The more experienced an injector is, more comfortable it should be.

At our practice, we usually recommend anywhere between 4-8 sessions one month apart, and then 1-2 maintenance sessions per year. It all depends on your degree of hair loss and your individual response to each session.
