Kenalog or other recommendation for raised eyebrow scar?
Hypertrophied scar
Oct 5, 2021
Oct 5, 2021
Thanks for asking. The common treatment options to improve hypertrophied scars include silicon scar gel sheets, (but will take a long time to show improvement, or sometimes may not be effective enough), the other options are steroid injections with triamcinolone acetonide 10 mg per ml or 40 mg per ml, depending upon the size and response of the scar. Kindly see a dermatologist who is experienced in this treatment. Indentation and telengiectasia are most common risks involved, but done with a…

Thanks for asking. All birth control pills have the ability to influence the growth and appearance of your scalp and body hair. While birth control pills may not affect your scalp hair at all, they can do so if you have a genetic predisposition to hormonal hair loss and/or follicle sensitivity to androgens (male hormones).
In these cases, the effect they have on your hair can either be positive or negative and this depends on the pill’s hormone combination and/or on your body’s met…

Does Botox for migraine also help with wrinkles prevention?
Botox for Migrainie and Bruxism
Sep 20, 2021
Sep 20, 2021
Thanks asking. Botox for Migraine injected at specific points in the forehead and glabella (frown area) helps with the wrinkle reduction as well. Botox done for bruxism reduced the bulk of masseter by relaxing it so indirectly slims down the face slighlty. Botox is a very effective treatment for Migraine and Bruxism which can give added benefit of improving the wrinkles in those particular areas. Hope this helps.
What is the best way to remove seborrheic keratosis (other than freezing)?
Seborrheic keratosis
Feb 13, 2021
Feb 13, 2021
Thanks for asking. Seborrhoeic keratosis is a harmless warty spot that appears during adult life as a common sign of skin ageing. Some people have hundreds of them. It is best to see a dermatologist and confirm the diagnosis. In our practice I use Erbium Laser to surgically remove them. If the person has normal healing then there is hardly any scar noticeable after the treatment, mild pink colour remains for sometime but eventually goes back to skin colour. One of the commonest procedures…

Lesions on the upper lip
Feb 8, 2021
Feb 8, 2021
Thanks for asking. From the pictures the lesion on the mid upper lip appears to be a venous lake. A venous lake is a common bluish soft macule or papule due to vascular dilatation. It would be best to consult a dermatologist and get it diagnosed, once confirmed it can be improved with a vascular laser. It can require few sessions but goes down effectively.
Can I have Botox injections for TMJ but just for clenching only, as it’s disrupting my sleep?
Botox for Bruxism
Feb 8, 2021
Feb 8, 2021
Thanks for asking.Injecting small doses of Botox (botulinum toxin) directly into the masseter muscle (the jaw), weakens the muscle enough to stop habitual grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw. This significantly relaxes the muscle and reduces the wear and tear on the teeth due to bruxism (the action of clenching or grinding). Patients see improvement in their symptoms which helps them sleep better. Once you have it done by an experienced practitioner then around 2 weeks you will…
