Lip filler only in upper lip?
lip augmentation
Dec 1, 2016
Hi. At present your upper lip is much thinner than the lower lip. Many of us work to a ration of 2/3 lower lip to 1/3 upper lip. From your photos, yours look more like 4/5 lower to 1/5 upper. Correcting this imbalance can significantly improve the lip aesthetic.

What creates a “duck lip” is mainly due to excessive product in the upper lip, pushing it forward (eversion) instead of increasing the visible red lip. This is down to technique.

If after treating the upper lip, it transpires…

My lips are very uneven. What can I do to fix them?
Filler for uneven lips

Your concern is quite a common one. Although a lot of people exhibit asymmetry in their faces, the lips should be as symmetrical as possible. A common quote is the two sides of the face may be sisters, but the two sides of the lips should be identical twins!

This should be fairly easy to achieve with a hyaluronic acid based filler. As with all face procedure, do your research and make sure you see someone who has good technical skill and an eye for fine detail.

Good luck!

Can I get lip augmentation?
Lip augmentation with existing scarring

Thank you for your question. Sorry to hear about the trauma you have endured.

The important thing to understand about a filler procedure in a patient such as yourself who has scarring, is that it carries more risk.

The scarring creates thickened tissue which is called fibrosis. This alters the underlying anatomy and makes the tissue more vulnerable to damage to the blood vessels.

So the implications are this:

1. greater risk of bruising

2. greater risk of skin necrosis

3. technically…

I have too many lines on my lips and my lip looks like old lady’s lips even though I’m only 24 years
Lip treatment

Hello. Your lips appear to have very good shape, definition and volume. However they would benefit from very subtle plumping to increase the hydration. My preference would be a light hyaluronic acid filler injected superficially. This will plump out the lines without changing the overall shape.I like to use a product called Volbella which will be available in the USA in the next few weeks. Belotero would be an alternative.
Cannula Needle Lip Injections?
Lip injections
Jul 2, 2016
Hello and thank you for your question. I am not from your area but thought I would give you some useful advice.A cannula is a  useful device for administering a filler and has the advantage of being less traumatic than a needle so potentially causing less bruising. The discomfort however is related to a number of factors such as individual pain perception, anatomical location, size of needle or cannula and skill of the practitioner. It is more important to seek a practitioner who has the r…
Teeth not showing as much as they did before fillers
Lip treatment
Jun 29, 2016
Hello. It is difficult to advise you without seeing photos, but generally when lip filler is injected, it may well reduce the amount of visible teeth display. In some patient this can be desirable, especially if there is a gummy smile. If you don’t like the look, wait for the filler to diminish and then either avoid treatment or discuss with your practitioner to see if the lip can be injected at a different site which still allows the projection but without altering the smile.
How do I get my lips a thicker width but not sticking out duck style?
lip augmentation
Jun 29, 2016
Hello. When we treat the lips, we can promote definition by treating the border, or volume by treating the body. Depending on where we inject, this can result in the lip everting or rolling out which is desirable in some patients. When I see your photos, I feel there is already good volume and I fear that injecting any product will cause an unnatural and overfilled look. That being said, there is always a difference between assessing a photograph and the person, so i would suggest a…
