This is a common concern I see in my practice. This patient had excision of a skin cancer with flap reconstruction to restore the external nasal valve. She was not satisfied with the appearance of her lip and cheek. Unfortunately, her upper lip was immobile and insensate, creating asymmetry. She was extremely sensitive about her appearance and wanted to breathe better through her nose. We performed a two stage-operation to reconfigure her cartilage strut and thin her flap to create a more pleasing facial contour. At 4 months after surgery, she was thrilled with her results. She feels confident now and isn't self-conscious at all. Dr. Ross was pleased to help in that transformative process.
