Are my incisions positioned too high? Eyelid surgery 8 days ago.
TOO HIGH
Jun 9, 2016
The incision placement is way too high so it makes it look as if the tarsal platform (area under crease) is too tall. Post-operatively, you can expect a fair amount of change/improvement over the first 3-4 weeks or so, but after that, any further change is going to be nominal. Even so, it is advisable to wait at least 6 months prior to revision to allow the scars to soften.
Ptosis or extra skin on right eyelid?
Asymmetry more related to double crease on right side
May 18, 2015
Didad,The degree of ptosis on the right side is so subtle that it is hardly noticeable. Look at where the edge of the eyelid sits in relation to the colored part of your eyes. Both upper eyelids cover just a sliver of the top part of the colored portion of the eye. There is one dominant crease in the left upper eyelid and two separate creases on the right. This is the main reason for different appearance of the eyes. To answer your questions, it’s not really ptosis or extra skin, but…
Would blepharoplasty increase the size of my upper eyelids?
Would blepharoplasty increase the size of my upper eyelids?
Feb 17, 2014
If your principal problem is skin that hangs over and covers the area below your upper eyelid crease (also known as dermatochalasis), then upper blepharoplasty would be a good option. Dermatochalasis can give the appearance that your eyes are smaller. If the edge of your upper eyelid sits low, as if you are in a state of half-blinking, then upper eyelid ptosis is present and the eyelid opening is actually smaller. In that case, ptosis surgery is in order to lift the eyelid itself. It is…
Should I address thyroid related eye problems before Blepharoplasty?
Best to wait until after orbital decompression.
Feb 17, 2014
Surgical treatment for thyroid eye disease typically follows a sequence: orbital decompression, eye muscle surgery, then eyelid surgery. This is because orbital decompression may affect your eye muscles and eyelids, and eye muscle surgery may affect your eyelids. You would not want to have eyelid surgery, then find out you need orbital decompression and have to have eyelid surgery again. Fortunately not all patients need all three types of surgeries. It really depends on the severity. I…
Should I do a filler for my lower lids or a Lower Transconjunctival Bleph?
Depends on the cheeks
Dec 13, 2013
The appearance of the lower lids in your case is related to the shadow cast from overhead lights onto the unmasked bags. If you lost a lot of weight, deflation of your cheeks may be the predominant cause. Either liposculpture (fat grafting) to the cheek area and/or Belotero (hyaluronic acid filler) to the tear trough would be a good option. The advantage of fat grafts is it is permanent, although only about 50% of what is injected goes on to survive in the grafted area. For areas where the…
My Left Eye Lid Droops After Botox, Will it Get Any Worse?
It won’t get worse. Use Iopidine drops to lift eyelid temporarily
Nov 1, 2013
The botox will have its full effect well before 2 weeks, so it is unlikely to get worse. The droopy eyelid can be from two different manifestations.1) If the eyebrow elevator muscles have been treated excessively (forehead lines), then the eyebrow can drop. As the brow drops, excess skin at the upper eyelid will be more apparent (hanging fold of skin)2) If the botox inadvertently paralyzed the eyelid elevator (levator palpebrae), then the eyelid itself will droop (ptosis). You will have a…
