Can Fillers or Botox lift my eyebrow?
Brow Balancing
Apr 4, 2018
Yes – the brows can usually be balanced with Botox and/or Fillers. Botox works to free up the lifting muscles (frontalis) by reducing the pull down around the eyes and between the brows. Fillers can lift when placed under the brow, in the temples, and sometimes in the forehead itself. It is essential to have a proper clinical evaluation with your physician to determine which if any of these treatments might work best for you. As one brow is often higher than the…
11’s just won’t go away?
Number 11’s
Aug 12, 2017
When number 11’s are present at rest, fillers are required for the majority of patients if you want to properly address these lines. Botox is important as it is treating the reason for the lines and naturally should be optimized and maintained. Having no movement does not necessarily erase lines, does not necessarily look natural, and does not usually provide long lasting improvement to static lines. Some of the happiest patients are those who see that filler can…
Isolaz for Redness and Large Pores?
Isolaz – redness and pores
Jun 5, 2017
Isolaz is a non-laser treatment providing what is called photopneumatic therapy. Essentially, a small pulse of light along with a vacuum treatment handpiece helps improve acne by reducing the acne bacterium called P. acnes while also cleaning out pores. If your pores are whiteheads or blackheads, then Isolaz can help. There are other types of pores including dilated pores from aged, thin skin; and some pitted acne scars can also mimic pores. Ideally, it…
Why is Botox in corregators and between my eyes causing inner brows to drop the past three times? It was
Botox and the Brows
Mar 6, 2017
Botox treatment of the glabellar area can lead to dropping of the brow if the injections are placed too high up or if placed too far away from the area between the brows. This is because the frontalis muscle is inadvertently being treated in both situations. It is not because of excessive spread of the Botox – which is determined and controlled by the experience of the injector rather than the nature of Botox.
With normal aging, there can also be laxity of the skin and loss…
How do I fix these indents between my brows?
Persistent frown creases after Botox
May 25, 2016
Frown lines and creases at rest are best treated with dermal fillers such as Juvederm or Restylane.  Botox, Dysport and Xeomin treat dynamic lines and should be optimized first. Dermal fillers address static lines and creases and provide immediate results.  This requires an experienced injector and should be easily possible.  The combination of Botox and a dermal filler gives a synergistic, pleasing and long lasting result.
Uneven Botox results. Can anything be to rectify this?
Botox at 4 days
May 23, 2016
It takes 2-3 weeks to see the full effect of Botox.  In the frown and forehead regions, it is approximately 80% effective by 1 week, 95% effective by 2 weeks, and fully effective by 3 weeks. There is naturally some variation between each patient and between each treatment.  At 4 days, there is the beginning of a result but not yet fully developed.  There can also be some initial mild asymmetries due to different rates of onset with each muscle group.  This can also present as initial but …
Is Dysport or Botox better?
Botox vs Dysport vs Xeomin
May 21, 2016
All three of these neuromodulators are well studied and have the same active ingredient.  While they are formulated differently and while each company may have a different spin on their onset of action and longevity, I have experience with all three for many years and find them equally effective.  Some patients wish to try a different brand if they are wondering about results and/or longevity and may have a brand preference which is fine.  The results of a treatment are solely due to the in…
