It is very common to have swelling for a prolonged period of time after revision rhinoplasty. Although most patients settle after 12-18 months after primary surgery, secondary or revision cases can take much longer.
Factors which determine this also includes the thickness of skin. Afro-Caribbean patients often have very thick skin so swelling tends to be more anyway, and particularly after revision surgery.
