Is this normal for Breast Aug?
Breast augmentation and drains
May 8, 2018
Hi Ms. XiaBaitu,
I would definitely give a call to your plastic surgeon especially to discuss your concerns. I do not routinely use drains after breast augmentation although some surgeons routinely do. He or she will have a certain criteria, meaning a total volume of output in a 24 hour period before pulling them out. As you are already doing, keep monitoring and recording the drain output along with monitoring the size, shape and symptoms of your breasts...
Considering breast augmentation. Are my breasts tubular?
Tuberous breasts.
May 3, 2018
Dear Ms. Sammy89,
The appearance of your breasts do seem to fulfill certain criteria that define a tuberous breast. Tuberous breasts can range from a very mild to severe form. The breasts can be of different sizes between each other, small and underdeveloped breasts, breast tissue that herniates or pushes through the areola making the areola appear enlarged and puffy, the position of the breast fold under the breast can be quite high on your chest, and a...
4 months since breast implant surgery, why are they so different?
Breast asymmetry
May 3, 2018
Hi Ms. Hollienoel7,
I appreciate your concern and see the difference in nipple position and breast shape. The most important first step is to compare your current picture with your preoperative photo. Pay special attention to the preoperative nipple position and note any size and shape differences between the breasts. With a breast augmentation alone, differences in nipple position and differences in breast droop will unfortunately persist. A...
Am I a good candidate for a breast reduction?
Breast reduction candidate
May 2, 2018
Hi,
I believe that you are a great candidate based on your symptoms and your picture. Unfortunately, as you have noticed that it is unlikely that you are going to have any significant reduction in breast size with further weight loss. The wonderful news about your weight loss is that you have significantly decreased your surgical risks!! That being said best to see a board certified plastic surgeon to make an in person evaluation. I hope this helps, take care.
How can I get my left boob to take same shape as my right, the more dominant?
Breast shape difference.
Apr 28, 2018
Hi Ms. Jessgirl1,
The photo suggests that you had your breasts augmented relatively recently, if this is so please don't worry! Sometimes and for whatever reason, one implant may drop down to its normal position faster while the other one stays high. If they were placed under the muscle, then the reason is that because of swelling and tightness of the muscle, it will push the implant up not allowing it to drop down. With time and breast implant...
My breasts have settled differently, 4 months post-op and I am wondering which one is sitting in the ri
Implant asymmetry
Apr 27, 2018
Hi Ms Kategurn1991,
I see your concern which based on the picture appears as if the right breast has dropped much more , possibly has bottomed out compared to the right. It’s difficult for me without an examination to determine what is going on exactly. Although one clue is to look for the position of the incision if placed at the fold on the right breast compared to the inframmary fold position. If the incision has elevated considerably over the implant t...
Is it normal for my surgeons office to not want to see me after my 2 week post-op appointment?
Postop follow up.
Apr 14, 2018
You are absolutely right in feeling that you should be seen frequently after surgery. Likely there must be a misunderstanding by the patient coordinator. As you and your girlfriend know, there is usually a regimented postoperative follow up plan that is specific to the type of surgery that you had undergone. I recommend for you to contact your surgeon and ask to be seen. I hope this helps.
8 weeks post op breast reduction and lift. What can be done about this dent on my left breast? I am 51
Left breast dent and asymmetry
Apr 14, 2018
Hi,
I understand your concerns and how you feel about your results so far. The good news is that you are early in the recovery and healing process. It is not too uncommon to have one breast “struggle” compared to the other breast. The hardness may represent fat necrosis or dense scar tissue. With time and scar management such as massage, silicone taping and steroid injection the area should improve. As you are still in the early stages of healing, there can be une...
When will upper pole fullness go away, or will it?
Upper pole fullness
Apr 13, 2018
Hi,
From the views on the pictures, I see your concerns especially on the side view where the breast appears to be quite projected with persistent upper pole fullness. I can see how on the front view the nipples appear too low. You are in the early postoperative period where there can be swelling of the muscle and soft tissues contributing to the appearance of too much upper pole fullness. As you know it is important to follow your surgeon’s i...
My boobs are uneven and I am 4 weeks post op, should I be worried?
Breast asymmetry after BA
Apr 13, 2018
Hi Ms Axe21,
I am so sorry that you have been understandably worried about your results so far. You are in the early postoperative period and having this type of asymmetry can occur at this time. It is important to follow the instructions that your surgeon has given you. I usually have my patients perform implant displacement excercises along with a band that is placed on the upper part of the breast so to encourage the implants to drop. What causes this is swelling of the soft...
