Statement: Bay Area Plastic Surgery has seen considerable success over the past twenty years, largely due to the vision, skill, and commitment to excellence of Dr. Leonard Gray, the practice’s owner, director, and board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Gray maintains mastery in breast augmentation, breast lifts, breast revision surgeries, tummy tucks, liposuction, and many other procedures of the breast, body, and face. Additionally, Dr. Gray offers minimally invasive cosmetic procedures like non-surgical facial rejuvenation, BodyTite, FaceTite, and more.

As the owner of a genuinely patient-centered practice, Dr. Gray strives to ensure that his patients enjoy the best office experience, are thoroughly educated on each procedure’s details, and receive outstanding surgical results through his meticulous attention to detail.

Dr. Gray is renowned for his expertise, skill, and innovation in cosmetic breast surgeries. He often performs highly complex breast revision surgeries, yielding outcomes that always aim to exceed his patients’ expectations. When treating capsular contracture, Dr. Gray utilizes a specialized technique that lowers the recurrence rate to less than 1% among his patients. He is also quite skilled at various mastopexy (breast lift) techniques and is one of the few plastic surgeons who understands and performs the vertical mastopexy method. Dr. Gray invented the non-surgical laser breast lift (LazeLift) for great results with minimal downtime. He also patented the collagen-coated breast implant in 1983 while at Stanford University, an innovation that has significantly reduced contracture rates in breast augmentation patients and remains popular today.

Am I a good candidate for the Brazilian Butt Lift?
Brazilian Butt Lift
May 25, 2016
Thank you for your question.Based on your photos, it looks like you’d be a great candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift, or liposuction with fat transfer. I like to use specific liposuction equipment called MicroAire. MicroAire assists in removing as many fat cells as possible with minimal tissue trauma as
well as optimizing the amount of fat injected into the buttocks. The MicroAire
pre-tunnels the tissue in the buttocks with air to make room for the extra
fat cells to ensure that they pick up…
Can the pocket be made smaller?
Pocket Adjustment
Dec 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. During surgery it is possible for a pocket to be over-dissected. Also, it can be corrected with breast augmentation revision surgery. If you are referring to yourself in your question and you are worried that your implants are displaced, I would seek advice from your surgeon so they can properly address your concerns.Good luck,Dr. Leonard Gray
I know this 19 girl gotten breast silicone injections. Now she is having major eyes problem.
Silicone Injections
Dec 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. Silicone injections are not legal in the US due to the extremely adverse side affects. Unfortunately, a patient seeking body contouring methods can sometimes get roped into doing these terrible procedures. Keep in mind that people who are performing these types of procedures are not properly trained, are not using any sort of recognized method acceptable in the United States, and are not using material that is safe for the body. Breast augmentation, whether…
425cc under the muscle implants. 1 week post op, will I get more projection once the implants
Be patient
Dec 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. Your results are typical of a patient who is only one week post-op. It usually takes 4-6 months for swelling to subside and breast implants to properly settle into the respective pockets made by the surgeon during breast augmentation surgery. Breasts usually change shape and patients usually notice that the volume that is currently in the upper pole area will move down to the lower pole area- better known as “dropping and fluffing”. I would encourage you to wait…
Will a 450cc make me too large? Currently 5’7, 140 pounds, 14 BWD, 34A. Looking to be a C.
450cc
Dec 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. This is a concern for many patients seeking breast surgery. Unfortunately, without photos or an examination it’s hard to give advice. During your consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, I would suggest trying on the 450cc sizers. This will give you a rough idea of what it may be like on your body in particular. Unfortunately, bra manufacturers are extremely subjective and can vary pretty widely between brands. Express your concerns to your…
Do I have a hematoma since surgery 9 months ago?
9 months post-op question
Dec 16, 2015
Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, it looks like you may have developed capsular contracture. Of course, this cannot be properly diagnosed without an examination. Your body will naturally form scar tissue around your implants during the healing process after breast augmentation surgery. Capsular contracture is the thickening of that scar tissue. Patients may feel pain and notice that one or both breasts seems higher, larger, or harder. In my practice, when capsular…
Implants too high and very hard after 1 month. Are they going to drop more than this?
Final result takes time..
May 21, 2014
Thank you for your question Bizou89.I agree with Dr. Morgan below. Your body takes time to heal, so you must be patient. At my practice, I remind my patients that they probably won’t see the final result for at least 4-6 months post-op. It takes time for your skin to stretch and your implants to settle into the pocket.Focus on taking care of yourself and healing. Based on your pictures, it looks like you will have a very nice final result- just remember to be patient. If you have any…

Generally I place filler following the Ultherapy treatment. In over 300 Ultherapy treatments I have not seen a change in previosly placed filler.
When Performing a Capsulectomy Would It Be Prudent to Replace with the Original Implants? Or Should Ne
Capsular contracture
Aug 19, 2012
My favorite thing to do for capsular contracture is to add Strattice to line the pocket following capsulectomy. The reccurrance rate has been extremely low, and it can help with rippling as well.
What Type of Implants Would Give Me a More Natural Look? Saline or Silicone? Under the Muscle?
Submuscular Silicone
Aug 19, 2012
Silicone under the muscle generally looks more natural and feels more natural. I always telll my patients that sub muscular implants have an advantage in that there is a lower capsular contracture rate, lower risk of nerve injury and less rippling and palpability.
What are the best areas to have Radiesse?
Best Sites for Radiesse
Aug 7, 2010
I have used Radiesse extensively for a couple years.

1.) Radiesse lasts about a year.

2.) Radiesse works well for the tear trough areas, cheeks, lateral brow, Nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and skin wrinkles on the cheeks.

3.) Radiesse is made of bone and a hydro gel, and promotes collagen production over time.

4.) I would not use Radiesse in the lips.

5.) The main risk of Radiesse is a bruise from the injection. There is no allergy.

Has anyone had experience with Ultherapy?
Ulthera Works
Aug 7, 2010
I have had the Ulthera machine for 4 months.

1.) Ulthera for the full face takes about an hour.

2.) In 5 years of FDA testing there were no adverse events.

3.) There is no downtime with Ulthera.

4.)I have performed approximately 60 Ulthera treatments.

5.) The FDA testing gave an 86% response rate for this treatment with only one pass. We are noticing a higher response rate than this with multiple passes at multiple levels of the skin.

6.)The Ulthera treatment is…

Ulthera vs Thermage for skin tightening
Ulthera Works
Aug 5, 2010
I have had the Ulthera machine for 4 months and have treated approximately 60 patients.

1.) I had the Thermage machine in the past, and, in my experience, the Ulthera machine works much better at non surgical skin tightening.

2.) the Ulthera machine is less painful than the Thermage machine.

3.) Local anesthetic can be used with the Ulthera machine but not with the Thermage machine.

4.) In my office Ulthera is less expensive than Thermage was.

How long does it take to see Ulthera results?
Ulthera works
Aug 5, 2010
I have had the Ulthera machine for 4 months and have treated approximately 60 patients.

1.) There is an initial tightening that is seen immediately. This is due to collagen shrinkage.

2.) The skin continues to tighten for 3 months. This is due to collagen production.

3.) After 3 months the result persists.
