Would fillers even out my uneven chin?
Chin Augmentation
Oct 1, 2018
Yes, fillers are commonly used in the chin for augmentation and to improve symmetry. If you get chin dimpling when smiling, botox/dysport (neuromodulators) can also be used to prevent this and to give you a smooth symmetrical chin. You should see an expert in consultation that can help you decide which options are best. Hope this helps!

Mohs Surgery Scar
Oct 1, 2018
Hi,
This is a common question from patients after Mohs surgery and is completely normal. Before closure, I discuss with patients that the suture line will often be longer than you anticipate because the Mohs defect needs to be elongated in the shape of an ellipse to prevent puckering of the edges. This will give you the best cosmetic outcome.
And I’m glad you realized smoking will only make scarring worse. Stopping or decreasing the amount you smoke will only help…
Is it best to have a plastic surgeon close your wound after Mohs surgery on your face?
Reconstruction Options
Oct 1, 2018
Hi,
Mohs surgery provides you with the highest cure rate and lowest recurrence rate, all while sparing healthy tissue. This is important in cosmetically sensitive areas, such as the eyelids. Eyelids can be delicate areas for reconstruction and the reconstructive options depend on the size of the defect after Mohs surgery. Mohs surgeons often work closely with facial plastics and oculoplastic surgeons for closure.
Be sure to discuss this…
Normal or not after forehead surgery?
Temple Rotation Flap – Mohs Reconstruction
Feb 21, 2018
Large defects in the temple area after Mohs surgery often require skin flaps for repair to avoid pulling/pushing on the eyebrows and eyelids. But even after flap repair, there can be some mild pushing down on the eyebrow/eyelid. Acutely this can be due to normal post-operative swelling and can take months to normalize, therefore you should continue to follow up with your surgeon as it’s too early to tell. If after close follow-up it’s still present, your surgeon could do…
How to get rid of permanent red dot on forehead due to Botox? 2 years post op.
Red Spot
Feb 14, 2018
It’s hard to say without a photo of the area. Red spots can be caused by a number of things on the face. Post-inflammatory erythema (redness) after trauma such as a puncture can happen. Often times, redness is a sign of increased blood vessels in the area. This redness is can easily be treated with a vascular laser (pulsed dye laser – Vbeam). But you should first have an in person consultation by a board certified dermatologist who can better evaluate the area and…
Can I get the hair back after one LHR session?
Laser Hair Removal
Feb 13, 2018
Unfortunately the hairs follicles treated (and responded) to the laser are likely permanently gone. But luckily for you, this was only your first treatment and only a small amount of hair follicles respond at each laser session. Also, settings are sometimes at a lower dose for a first treatment in order to see how you respond, which may be in your case. After one treatment, it may not even be noticeable. Hope this helps!
What is the technical name for the kind of Mohs reconstruction I had?
Mohs Reconstruction
Feb 13, 2018
Hard to say what type of closure was performed without a photograph. There are a number of reconstructive options in this area to minimize pull on the eyelid/eyebrow. If it’s a straight or slightly curved line, then it’s likely a linear closure. If there’s a horizontal and vertical line, then this could either be an advancement or rotation flap. Again, we could give you a better response based upon a photograph, but I hope this helps anyways.
