Some wrinkles and “sag” may become visible as the Botox wears off, and your facial muscles regain their ability to animate. Depending on the injection sites, minor changes in brow and eyelid position can occur, as well as lip position and smile. The resulting changes are not caused by the long term usage of Botox; rather, it is a reflection of natural aging that has occurred over time. Is swelling and pain normal 36 hours after Botox?
Botox usually results in minimal swelling. You may have a small bruise or developing infection.

Hello VAMom,
Usually, treatment with Botox does not result in significant swelling or pain. If it is localized to one specific site and not all of them, I would look out for either a small bruise (as there are numerous tiny vessels in the area) or redness of the skin, indicating a developing infection. Bruising will self-resolve over the course of the next couple weeks, but an infection might require oral antibiotics. If it continues to get worse, I encourage you to get the area reevaluated….
