BBL surgery recovery buttlift
Different surgeons may use differing techniques, and recovery restrictions will likewise vary as well. Generally, you will be restricted in the amount of time you may sit, and in which position, for a few weeks.
You will need to limit your activity as well, and to wear a support garment continuously for a variable length of time.
Most daily household activities (with the above restrictions) may be returned to within a few days in most cases. (Armando Soto, MD, FACS, Orlando Plastic Surgeon)
BBL surgery is design to reshape and enlarge the buttocks by a combination of liposuction and placement of the processed fat into the buttocks. Liposuction portion reshapes the body as the injection improves the size and shape of the buttocks.
During the recovery a special garment is worn to help keep swelling down for a period of six weeks. This is a thin garment easily hidden under clothing. Activities are limited for approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Most important is to avoid placing any pressure on the newly transferred fat by not sitting on it for the first 2 weeks.
We have a protocol for our patients to follow to help increase the amount of fat that wil be retained. Actiivities are slowly increased during the post operative period. Pain is easily controlled and the outcome has a dramwtic effect on the overall body shape. (Shahriar Mabourakh, MD, FACS, Sacramento Plastic Surgeon)
The majority of my patients take 2 weeks off from work or similar activities. I ask my patients to not sit for 2 weeks at least, and try not an sit for 4 weeks if possible in order to increase the fat survival rate.
Meet with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon (by the American Board of Plastic Surgery) who specializes in gluteal shaping for an in person consultation in order to discuss whether or not your are a candidate for the procedure and your goals and options.
Also, look at their before and after photos and their reviews. (Luis H. Macias, MD, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon)
Each patient is unique in their own recovery. But in general, most do begin to return to activities around the second week. The difficult part is avoiding direct pressure to the area during this initial period to prevent necrosis of the transfered adipose tissue. (Ryan Mitchell, MD, FRCSC, Grand Rapids Plastic Surgeon)
You should be able to resume normal activities 6-8 weeks after your surgery. Your transferred fat will act in fashion and unison with the rest of your body.
Typically 2 wks no sitting on the graft directly No exercise for six weeks. Garment stays on for a month. You should be able to resume work and light activities within two weeks of surgery. But again, you will have a recovery time table that is specific to you – this is not a cookie cutter process and your recovery will be yours and your surgeon will let you know exactly how to proceed to ensure best possible results.
I instruct my patients not to sit on their augmented buttocks for 2 weeks. You can generally resume exercise after 6-8 weeks. It can take up to one year to see your final result. (Andrew Jimerson, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
My recommendation is that you find an ASPS board certified surgeon in your area who specializes in the BBL, and set up an in person consult. An in person consult with an an ASPS board certified surgeon is the only way to determine the best route for your body and your goals. (Constantino G. Mendieta, MD, Miami Plastic Surgeon)
Brazilian Butt Lift recovery time
In general, I perform liposuction of the abdomen, waists, upper and lower back. Recovery from liposuction takes about one week or so. Regarding the butt fat transfer, my recommendation is minimal sitting on the butt for one week and then progressive and gradual increase in your sitting times. After about 6 weeks, you should be able to sit normally. (Siamak Agha, MD, PhD, FACS, Orange County Plastic Surgeon)
Typical Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery
The usual recovery time is 10 to 14 days which means very little sitting or no sitting during this time period. Some patients choose to stay at an aftercare hotel the same day but the majority go home the same day and lay on their stomach. I have a specific protocol that allows patients that have sitting jobs to return to work without flattening the buttock we worked so hard to shape. I have a lot of experience with BBL and frequently invited to lecture on my techniques and protocols.
It is important for your surgeon to have the experience to customize your post-op regimen to be right for your since every patient and body type is different. Exercise can usually start at 4 weeks ans I recommend specific exercises that can optimize your results. You will start to see your early results come to life by 3 months and then become near final by 6 to 9 months. By 6 months, research shows that the fat cells are at their almost final percent survival. Do your research and look carefully at before afters. Make sure that there are many full nude photos since changing underwear may trick the eye. You want your surgeon to show you the true results and have a large variety of body types and butt shapes to show you.
