Pain sided pain after sleeve
Aug 24, 2017
When in doubt, check it out! Call your surgeon’s office so he/she can evaluate what could be causing the pain. It could be a pulled muscle or even your gall bladder. The office would rather you call them than to wait if it’s something serious.
Would I qualify for Gastric Bypass surgery at 318 pounds?
Criteria for surgery
Aug 24, 2017
Your BMI is 43 so you do meet the BMI requirements. Call your insurance company to verify that you have bariatric benefits also. Make an appointment to consult with a surgeon to evaluate the appropriateness of a gastric bypass verses a sleeve for you.
Glad to see your family has done well. good luck to you!
I currently weigh 300lbs How hard would it be for me to lose 180 lbs or even 150 after a gastric bypa
Expected weight loss after a gastric bypass
Aug 9, 2017
Everyone is very different with regard to how much weight loss can be achieved. This is based on current health, genes, medications, life style environment etc. If we use average weight loss expectations after a bypass, your weight might settle around 160 to 180 pounds. I would not recommend a goal of 120 pounds for you. I will say, however, that the more a patient puts into achieving goals, the better the result. Talk with your dietitian, surgeon, or…
Stomach beating after sleeve surgery – 1 year post-op.
Stomach pain
Aug 7, 2017
It’s amazing all the unique things patients may feel! Sometimes, the stomach can have trapped air. Have you tried burping when this happens?
Be careful when you eat. If you talk or laugh a lot while eating, you may swallow air.
I had a gastric sleeve approximately 7 weeks ago but have severe nausea!
Nausea
Aug 7, 2017
Make an appointment to see your surgeon and his certified bariatric nurse or dietitian. There are remedies to help alleviate the nausea. Your surgeon may want to check your gallbladder also if you have none.
Hope you feel better soon!
Am I a candidate for the sleeve?
Sleeve gastrectomy criteria
Aug 7, 2017
At a BMI of 37, you need to have at least 2 weight related conditions like diabetes or sleep apnea. We test you tin order to assess your conditions if not already diagnosed. Though you may meet the BMI criteria and co-morbidity criteria, I would still need to evaluate whether the sleeve would be the right procedure for you also.
Post-op sleeve follow-up and vitamins.
Vitamins
Aug 7, 2017
Your surgeon in Mexico will have guidelines for you to follow. Each surgeon has this/her specific recommendations for vitamins and follow-up. In general, we want patients to take a multivitamin with iron, Vitamin B12 and calcium. I follow my patients for 5 years, very closely in the first year. Why Mexico when you can come to Sewell!
