There are many options for revision of gastric bypass including endoscopic revision using the overstitch device, placing a Lap-Band over the bypass, or completely revising the gastric bypass laparoscopically.  The first step is to have an endoscopy performed by your bariatric surgeon to see what you may qualify for.  You can not have a sleeve gastrectomy after a gastric bypass.

If you are have a symptomatic with a slip it is very important to have the band fixed or completely removed,  A slip can lead to severe erosive esophagitis that can lead to Barrett's esophagus ( a precancerous condition) and also can lead to necrosis and perforation of the stomach if it becomes really bad.  A removal of a slipped Lap-Band should be covered by all insurances in an emergent situation like this.  I would complain to your state insurance department and seek the advice of a qual...

The Band can slip at anytime after surgery.  It can be anytime from 1 day after surgery or even 20 years after surgery.  The symptoms of a slip are usually severe gastroesophageal reflux, difficulty tolerating solid foods, and vomiting.  I recommend you have an endoscopy by an experienced bariatric surgeon because they can best assess if there is a slippage and then address how best to treat it.  I wish you the best of luck.

Generally, bariatric surgeries like the Lap Band, gastric sleeve, and gastric bypass, are offered to patients who have a BMI over 40, with no related health conditions. In addition, patients who have a BMI over 35 combined with at least one comorbidity (including sleep apnea, high blood pressure, or osteoarthritis), are also good candidates for weight loss surgery.

If you are having issues keeping food down you should seek the advice of your bariatric surgeon or a second opinion from another bariatric surgeon as soon as possible.  There is no way to reverse a sleeve gastrectomy because the large portion of the stomach was removed.  If you have a stricture or a twist it can sometimes be fixed with endoscopy and a stent or sometimes requires conversion to a sleeve gastrectomy.  It is important for you to seek the advice of a qualified bariatric su...

Unfortunately any previous gastric surgery is a complete contraindication for all of the gastric balloons on the market including Orbera, Reshape, and Obalon. You should look into a comprehensive weight loss program or surgery if you qualify. I wish you the best of luck.

I would get a second opinion from another bariatric surgeon to perform an endoscopy to see if the original sleeve was performed correctly.  If they made your stomach too large this can lead to the poor weight loss.  You should have never even had a sleeve gastrectomy with a BMI of 32. The criteria for sleeve gastrectomy is a BMI of 40 or greater or a BMI fo 35 or greater with at least one medical problem related to obesity.
