Areola Reduction - will this give me my desired look?
You need a lollipop lift
Oct 9, 2022
Hi fg0111,You should consider a lollipop lift, which will reduce the areola, move it upward into a perkier position and tighten the lower breast where it used to be. You will be very happy with the shape improvement you get from that. Find a board-certified plastic surgeon with pictures you are happy with. There are so many terrific surgeons in the Dallas area, it's hard to go wrong. Bring them pictures of the breasts you would like to have. That will really help your surgeon know what shape...
Would I be a good candidate for donut incision and areola reduction?
Multiple good options for you
Oct 9, 2022
Hi Happycamper1243,Depending on your desired look, there are a number of good options for you. You may be asking for a donut incision because you realize that a standard augmentation with round implants will give you a downward-looking nipple, which will look worse. I think you are right. You will be back on this forum trying to find a solution after that. Many examples of it, if you look around here...If you are open to a teardrop-shaped implant and a more natural looking breast, you could...
Can a donut lift gone wrong be fixed?
Ask about mesh and Gore-tex
Oct 9, 2022
Hi Miamimia, Lifts around the nipple often run into those issues of stretching out. There are two options for that: a gore-tex suture can be very effective in keeping the areola small, and a lollipop lift is ultimately the solution if the gore-tex is not enough. If the implant keeps drifting down, usually it is a sign that you are slender, with delicate tissues that need help holding that implant in place. There are mesh options, both organic (expensive) and synthetic (cheaper), to keep the...
Saggy mommy makeover at 6 months post-op. What can I do?
Ask your surgeon for a revision
Oct 9, 2022
Hi RSProfile3695427,
First off, It looks like you have come a long way with your mommy makeover, looking at your picture number 6, so congratulations on that! Once the swelling subsides, it can be disappointing to find out that your skin elasticity is not corrected by removing some of that skin and fat. Just getting active again will stretch things out a bit, and your skin won't spring back the way it used to. On top of that, your body is trying to reaccumulate the missing reserves of fat...
Am I a candidate for a revision? Areola reduction and reposition , 7 months post op and not satisf
You will need a few stages to have what you want
Oct 9, 2022
Hi realself270681,
Everyone wants their breasts to look better, bigger, and younger. Sometimes you can only have 2 out of 3 at one time, and something has to give. I am sorry to tell you that this would have been much easier and cheaper to do BEFORE putting in your implants, and it is entirely predictable that your right nipple position would look worse with a high, round, full implant.
You need a lollipop lift for the right breast to put the nipple in a perkier, matching position. That can...
May I be a good candidate for a facelift?
Too early for a facelift
Oct 9, 2022
Hi Jasmin,
Although the changes you note are real, they are still too subtle to be worth a full facelift. When people feel they need a facelift, they are really asking about a number of different components which can be treated separately without the full downtime, scars or risks of a full facelift. I like to break those parts into the lower eyelid (mid face), the cheek, the lower face / jawline, and the neck -- which has a superficial and deep part. For example, I might offer lower eyelift,...
Does my facial structure/type of sagging make it less likely that a Facelift will last 10 years? (
Benefits from facelifts are forever
Jun 4, 2022
Hi Learning,
Thanks for this question. Patients often believe that facelifts "last" or "go away", and usually that means they don't understand how things works. A facelift cannot make you look a certain age forever, but it will have effects that last forever. Let's say you are 50, a facelift might make you look 40, but you will still continue to age, and eventually 5 years later you will look 45 years old. On the other hand, you don't go back to looking 55 where you would have been (now you...
Will losing 20lb affect my deep plane facelift results?
20 lbs weight loss should not mess up your results
Jun 4, 2022
Hi Joan,
This is a great question about timing surgery with weight loss. Of course, the ideal situation is to reach a stable ideal weight and stay there for a while before surgery. The tricky part is sometimes knowing when you have reached a stable point, especially since many people cycle in a range all the time, and that is normal. I like to tell people that 20 lbs or less of weight fluctuation has a modest to minimal impact on tightness. More than that (like 30# or more) will start to...
Am I a good candidate for an endoscopic mid facelift?
An endoscopic mid face lift will make you look weird
Jun 4, 2022
Hi Lina,
There is a long history now of surgeons trying to make the face look younger by lifting the deepest layer of the face at the level of the bone. You should be very specific about what your surgeon is exactly going to do, but that is the idea behind endoscopic mid face lift. Unfortunately that layer is not where we age, and it just makes people look weird to do that surgery. At best you don't look too weird and there is very little effect. Aging skin loosens superficially, and also...
Going from 36C back to AA: How much sagging should I expect? Can I expect to be completely flat ag
When your implants are out, you may have more breast than you think
Dec 4, 2021
Hi Powerful,
There are many options for you, so the answer really depends on you. At your young age, unless you have had tremendous weight changes, I would generally expect the skin to spring back fairly well. Just removing the implant and leaving the capsule behind will likely give you the look of a very small implant as your body's natural fluid fills the remaining pocket. You certainly have natural fluid collections elsewhere, like in all your joints and your eyes, so that is one option...
Is it better for me to have breast explant and uplift at the same time, or have the uplift later?
Explant and a lift adds a small risk but many benefits
Dec 4, 2021
Hi Jenny,
Explantation alone is very low risk, but removing the tissue capsule takes away some of the blood supply to the breast. That can modestly increase the risk of healing problems when done with a breast lift, but is still very low risk when done conservatively. Some lifts reduce the blood supply, and some don't, so your surgeon needs to pick the right one if you want a combined approach. For most healthy people, the convenience of a single recovery is worth it, and sometimes...
Do I need a breast lift or implants only?
Consider teardrop implants if you want to avoid a lift
Dec 4, 2021
Hi kshaf,
Great job losing the weight! That is the hard part, and you will need help from a plastic surgeon for the rest. There are a number of right answers for you, but don't be paralyzed by your excellent options. Round implants partially under the muscle, plus a lift will work well for you. If you go larger size, you might not need a lift. If you are trying to avoid the lollipop scars of a breast lift, then consider a teardrop shaped implant above the muscle, which will help lift your...
Thoughts/opinions on if this is the norm for me to pay again since the doctor used his discretion
If you paid for a breast lift, you should get a breast lift
Nov 22, 2021
Hi Taytay,
I totally understand that sometimes we can't have everything that is planned, just because of physics and biology. But I agree with you that if a lift wasn't done, either you need a refund of that part, or you get it at a later stage. Although you have a natural looking breast afterward, it does not look like a lifted breast compared to beforehand. Talk to your surgeon about that, and advocate for yourself. I would say any reasonable surgeon will want you to be happy with the...
Do you think I need a reduction on the larger breast to have the best results in the end?
Two Implants and one lift could make you look terrific
Oct 30, 2021
Hi Mikaylamb,Augmentation would be a great start to balance your breast sizes, but the extra skin on the right would leave your nipples in very different positions. It will take a lift on the right side as well to bring both sides into better balance, and give you a fuller, perkier and more balanced look. It’s not rocket science, but look for an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who can talk you through those options, and offer you a result you will be happy with. Don’t settle for...
I'm 42 years old - Did I have a bad tummy tuck done or is it my body?
A longer scar is a tighter tuck
Oct 30, 2021
Hi Considerate589982,I am not sure what happened here, but it is possible that a limited amount of skin was removed to avoid extending the incision around the sides. If you need more skin removed (which it looks like you do) then it would likely require extending your scar towards your back. If your surgeon did not offer that option (or you said no to that), then that limits how tight you could get. When you bend at the waist, it is normal to have some loose skin, but I agree your tummy...
