What should I expect for downtime with microneedling performed on a low setting?
What to expect after Microneedling
Mar 2, 2019
Since everyone’s skin is different, it would be difficult to tell you specifically how you will respond. In general, you can expect to look red for at least 1-2 days. I tell my patients to wait 18 hours to put anything on their faces. I use SkinPen brand, so it comes with a post-procedure kit.
The important thing to know is that nothing should go inside the “microchannels” that could potentially cause infection or inflammation (i.e. dirty makeup brushes, irritating substances) for 18 hours…
Can Geneveve procedure help with a prolapsed bladder, stage 2?
Can Geneveve help with prolapsed bladder?
Jul 20, 2018
Thank you for that question. Although Geneveve helps with vaginal tightening and increased collagen growth, it will not help significantly with prolapse. Prolapse is essentially like a hernia, the muscle layer of the vagina becomes weak allowing the bladder to “prolapse” or push down through a thinned out muscle. I would need to do an examination for further evaluation, of course. I hope this helps.
Can microneedling re raise keloid scars that were once flat?
Keloids and microneedling
May 16, 2018
Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, microneedling can (in some cases) make keloids worse. A different facial/chest rejuvenation treatment, like a non-ablative Nd:YAG laser can stimulate the collagen production of your face without potentially worsening a keloid condition. Make sure that you contact your provider who initially treated the keloid before you initiate any further treatments. Take care, Dr. Gordon.
What is the best treatment for my red marks from acne (post inflammatory hyper pigmentation)
Acne Scars
May 9, 2018
I’m sorry you have struggled with this condition. An Nd:YAG laser treatment treats both the scars and the redness caused by inflammation. I would recommend an examination in person, however, before you choose receive any treatment. Some laser types are safe on all skin tones, such as the Aerolase Neo, but other types can leave more discoloration. Make sure you see a board certified physician prior to proceeding with any treatment.
How does the Geneveve vaginal rejuvenation procedure work and what symptoms does it treat?
Geneveve as a former Urologic Surgeon
Apr 30, 2018
I’m sure you have already read that Geneveve uses radio frequency (RF) to stimulate the collagen production in the vaginal canal and treats a variety of conditions including vaginal laxity, mild stress incontinence, dryness, etc.
As a former Urologic Surgeon, I was a bit skeptical at first. I have to say, Geneveve is amazing. Several patients have had almost immediate resolution of the leakage symptoms! Results may vary, and a detailed history is very important, but I am v…
Is it safe to get long pulsed 1064nm Nd:YaG laser 2 weeks prior to medium TCA peel.
Nd:YAG after medium chemical peel
Apr 30, 2018
Thank you for your question. Without seeing pics of your skin type and examination it is difficult to answer completely. In my opinion, all inflammation should resolve prior to laser therapy. This can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks or more. Some sensitizing of the skin can occur with both laser and chemical peels, and as you know, the TCA peel is a stronger type. Most importantly, make sure to use sunscreen (SPF 30 at least), and reapply every 2 hours. All the best.
Why Can’t You Drink Coffee or Alcohol on the Zerona Treatment?
Avoiding caffeine during Zerona
Apr 21, 2018
Great question. The dissolved fat is cleared by the body through the lymphatic system. This requires some “flushing out” which is best done with water. Caffeine depletes your body of hydration (even though you may feel like you have to go to the bathroom more). It essentially dehydrates the cells that are trying to flush out with water.
