Melasma developed post pregnancy - Which products should I use and avoid and what are my procedure op
Mask of Pregnancy - Melasma
Feb 6, 2023
Melasma is a challenging condition to treat. First, always start with daily tinted mineral sunscreen to prevent further triggering of the condition. Next, consider any hormonal culprits- besides pregnancy, oral birth control and hormonal IUDs . Third, treatment can include HQ, kojic acid or azelic acid in combination with a retinoid at bedtime. Vitamin C serum (apply first after cleansing) can help as an antioxidant to heal damage from sun. Microneedling, chemical peels and laser peels can...
Can lip filler cause permanent moustache bruising?
? permanent bruise to upper lip
Nov 3, 2021
What you are describing sounds like the Tyndall effect. The Tyndall effect is a blue colour that your eye sees when light hits the area the filler was injected as the HA in the filler product has multiple small particles within it and it can cause scattering of light in the blue spectrum (similar to why the sky appears blue). In aesthetics, the Tyndall effect can occur if HA filler is placed too superficially or if filler migrates out of the lip to the perioral area . At first the blue...
Is filler appropriate for use in the jaw line and for a weak chin?
Chin filler
Oct 21, 2021
Thanks for your question. I love chin filler for a “weak” or under bite chin. It can dramatically change ones profile. I also filler like it in a mature chin to minimize dimpling. The product should be stiff as the filler is injected onto bone. However depending on how “sharp” or angular you like the shape of the jaw line you could go with even stiffer product. I find anatomy of an Asian face can handle sharper jaw and chin projection. Hope that helps. Juvaderm Voluma would be a good choice ...
Would rogaine be beneficial?
Rogaine may help
Apr 20, 2021
My experience in women with hair loss it can multifactorial. In your case, androgenetic alopecia or female pattern baldness is a possible diagnosis but we would want to make sure there is no other contributing factor like low iron or anemia, vitamin D deficiency, thyroid disease. At our clinic, we do a complete history, drug history and scalp exam with a dermatoscope to confirm your diagnosis we also offer scalp biopsy if the diagnosis is unclear. Rogaine can be helpful androgenetic alopecia...
Best product for a lip augmentation for thin lips? How long does it last and is the process painful?
Lip augmentation for thin lips
Nov 9, 2020
If you are new to filler and have thin lips I would recommending trying a " lip flip" as a starting point. A lip flip is a technique that injects a neuromodulator like Botox or Nuceiva into the upper or lower lip to evert the lip making it appear larger. This is great for young patients and also in a mature lip with the added bonus of helping with any unwanted upper lip "smokers" lines. It typical only takes 4 units to achieve a result on upper lip which is equivalent to $44 dollars. This...
Should I start rogaine?
Acute Hair loss
Nov 9, 2020
Given the short time course of your hair loss being only 2 months and it being quite dramatic I would think a pure androgenetic hair loss would be unlikely. Do you have a strong family history of female or male pattern hair loss? Given the redness to the scalp and the tenderness I would suspect a inflammatory or infectious cause. Is the scalp itchy and flaky? What is the exact area you are losing hair is it patchy or diffuse? My experience is female hair loss is usually multifactorial. Could...
Is non-surgical nose job right for me to address my bump in profile and improve the tip?
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty- straightening the nasal bridge
Sep 13, 2020
Thank you for your question. The photos submitted are not optimal but I can tell you in general terms we can use filler to create the illusion of a straight nasal bridge. We can also use filler to elevate the nasal tip to create a better angle. When alignment of the nose or revision /reduction of the nasal tip is requested surgery is a better solution.
