A breast lift with a breast reduction on one side, as well as bilateral implants will help obtain symmetry and a beautiful shape. Hi, natasha O. I’m so glad you stopped smoking! The complication rate for an abdominoplasty and breast lift in active smokers is 50%. I do not like to exceed an OR time of 6 hours. After being under anesthesia for 6 hours the risk for blood clots significantly increase — This can be deadly. I have found that the amount of tissue removed coincides with the swelling. The more that is removed the more swelling a patient will experience. If you are happy with the appearance of your breasts then I would avoid another surgery. Keep in mind that even if the breasts look symmetric now, over time that can change. With one implant being above the muscle it will age differently than the one under the muscle. After Breast Augmentation and Liposuction, most soreness dissipates by week 4. By that time all or most of my patients are off of pain medication. Keep in mind everyone’s recovery is different. By week 4 most patients are ok to do light aerobic activities i.e., treadmill, elliptical and things that get your heart rate up but that are not too strenuous or bouncy. By six weeks most patients are off all pain medications and are cleared for heavy duty lifting and exercise.
