gastric bypass
Oct 4, 2017
Hi there. At your current height and weight, your body mass index (BMI) is only 32.4 which isn’t high enough to qualify for surgery. In order for you insurance to pay for your operation, you need to have a BMI of 40 or higher if you have no medical problems, or in your case since you have high blood pressure, you can have a BMI of 35 or higher which means you would have to weigh 211lbs. If you don’t meet the BMI requirements, you would have to pay out of pocket for the operation which can be…

A urine test is also commonly done for female patients do ensure that they are not pregnant. Also, as mentioned before, sometimes it is done to check for nicotine as well.
Botox Side Effects Injecting Hands, Sweaty Palms?
sweaty hands
Oct 3, 2017
You may want to consider having a thoracic sympathectomy as it is the only definitive treatment with a 98-99% success rate. Just talk to some of our patients who have had botox injections in their hands before, and have since gone on to have a sympathectomy.
How to stop my excessive sweating? I am a 19 year old female.
excessive sweating
Oct 3, 2017
It depends on where your sweating is. Is it your face, hands, feet, arm pits, back, chest? Long term success with medications like Botox are terrible. The most effective treatment for excessively sweaty hands, arm pits, and feet is surgery (sympathectomy). There is a 98-99% cure rate for the hands and arm pits with a thoracic sympathectomy, and the same success for the feet with a lumbar sympathectomy. The downside of doing these operations is that you will usually develop compensatory…
Will my skin tighten by itself after Gastric Bypass? 6 Months Post-Op.
excess skin after gastric bypass
May 15, 2017
Hi there. First off, congratulations on losing so much weight. That is fantastic! With regard to your skin, that’s difficult to answer. Some people have very elastic skin and it snaps right back. Other people will end up having a lot of excess skin. Most people end up with some degree of excess or baggy skin and the more weight you lose, the more you tend to have. One thing to keep in mind though is that if you have a lot of excess skin, it just means you were super successful and lost a lot…
Bypass surgery after sleeve?
bypass after sleeve
May 15, 2017
First, it’s only been 7 months so it is too early to say that your sleeve has not been successful. After a year to a year and a half, if you haven’t lost any weight (or very little), then your doctor can start investigating and seeing why. Are you eating small quantities of food? Are you eating too much, eating carbohydrates, sweets? Are you exercising? If you are doing all of the right things and still did not lose weight, maybe you need an EGD or UGI to see how large your…

plastic surgery after gastric bypass

Your weight is fine, however, just make sure that your weight is stable. We like to wait until about one year after weight loss surgery or until weight is stable. You don’t want to have a tummy tuck and then lose more weight after and end up having loose skin again.
