Can you advise on a mole on side of my face that is getting pretty big?
Mole that is changing its size.
Sep 15, 2019
Sep 15, 2019
Hello! The photograph shows a well-defined mole on the left temple. Increase in size can be a cause for concern, as one of the possibilities is a malignant change. However, if there has been no bleeding through it, a malignancy is unlikely.
Removal under local anaesthesia, and histopathology confirmation is the best way forward. Fortunately it is close to the hairline, so the scar can be well hidden.

Eyebrow Asymmetry and Botox
Feb 6, 2016
Feb 6, 2016
Hello! Asymmetric eyebrows can be due to many factors. The commonest, as mentioned by many of my colleagues here is a mild eyelid droop. The brain tries to compensate for the eyelid droop by asking the brow to do that job, thereby resulting in a high eyebrow on the side of the droop. It could also be due to a long standing facial asymmetry, or an old facial palsy or paresis. It would be best to get evaluated by an Oculoplastic surgeon in your vicinity and proceed.Thank you!

Forehead Botox after Tumor removal
Feb 6, 2016
Feb 6, 2016
Hi! Yes, it is possible to receive Botox 1 year after Liposarcoma removal. If the frontalis muscle (the one that responds to Botox injection) is intact, you will find the benefit of the injection. The only difference you may notice is that the procedure may be slightly painful if there is considerable scarring in the plane of injection.

Worsening of Lower lid wrinkles after Botox for Crow’s feet: A possiblity
Jan 31, 2016
Jan 31, 2016
Hello! Following Botox for crow’s feet, it is possible that the lower eyelid wrinkles appear in excess in comparison. This could be due to the ‘spillage’ of innervation impulses that were actually supposed to act on the muscle that is relaxed. It therefore ends up contracting the untouched lower lid muscle, leading to the increased wrinkling. In most cases, this should soften and resolve in a few days. There is no way a doctor can predict this before hand, especially if this is your first…

Filler for Puffy Eyes
Jan 27, 2016
Jan 27, 2016
Hi! Puffy eye bags could either be a fat, or fluid festoon. Differentiating these two is important before considering treatment options. Assuming it is fat, whether or not can it be camouflaged with a Filler would depend upon the extent of the fat bag. Mild to moderate fat bags can be well treated with fillers underneath the bulge. For excess fat bulge, a conservative Blehparoplasty is best.Though your Filler lasted only for 3 months in laugh line area, it is likely to last more in the…

Perlane Near Orbital Rim
Jan 27, 2016
Jan 27, 2016
Hi! Fillers in the orbital rim area (tear trough included) tend to last much longer than the usual predicted timelines of 6-12 months. Therefore, it is possible to see a lump after 2 years. However, I am not sure what caused it to become prominent this late. It might be best to consult an oculoplastic surgeon just to make sure you are not having any other issues related to tear duct. A picture might help speculate the problem. Thanks.
Ptosis from Botox injections – what can be done?
Botox and Droopy Eyelid
Oct 22, 2015
Oct 22, 2015
Hi, Sorry to hear about your ptosis (droopy eyelid) following Botox. This is a rare complication of Botox injection around the eyes (commonest due to treatment of frown lines). It occurs due to the unwanted action of Botox on the muscle that lifts the eyelid. You would often find physicians mentioning about a drop to reverse it, but as an eye plastic surgeon I can tell you, that these drops do not work. Earlier, Guanethidine eye drop was recommended, which is not easily available from any…
