Seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. Is there a type of Minoxidil which would be better to avoid that?

Sep 6, 2016
Sep 6, 2016
Minoxidil does not causes or aggravate seborrheic dermatitis. How ever most of the minoxidil formulations are available as alcoholic solution so while application of minoxidil alcohol evaporates leaving behind fine white precipitate. May be these precipitate mistaken as seborrheic dermatitis. you can change the formulation to nonalcoholic one. But if you have seborrheic dermatitis better use an antifungal shampoo.
My question is could a mole on my vagina lips be cancerous?
Mole to cancer progression
Sep 6, 2016

There is very small risk of melanoma from a common melnaocytic nevus but if a mole rapidly increases in size, changes colour, having asymmetric borders, bleeding or ulceration then it is better to consult a dermatologist. Removal of mole is an easy procedure.

hair thinning and PCOS
Sep 6, 2016
Sep 6, 2016
Usually PCOS cause thinning of hairs because of excess androgens but it doesn’t leads to excessive hair fall which is most commonly due to telogen effluvium. Reasons behind telogen effluvium can be iron deficiency, low fetid level, thyroid hormone imbalance, crash dieting, stress, prolonged illness or fever. Its better to take an opinion from a dermatologist. Hairs lost in acute telogen effluvium tends to recover on their own without any treatment.
I have hair loss on my crown. Is my hairline likely to recede?
Pattern Baldness
Sep 4, 2016
Sep 4, 2016
Yes, it is quite possible that you get baldness in the vertex/ crown area first then progressed to hair line.treatment depends on the stage of the baldness and existing hair conditions. medical treatment with PRP, minoxidil, finesteride is advised if good numbers of hairs still present in the bald area as these medicines can improve only existing hair roots, once the root is disappeared no medicine can bring it back. As such age is no bar regarding safety of hair transplantation…

Laser Hair removal complications
Sep 4, 2016
Sep 4, 2016
Shaving hairs before laser hair removal is a must, by not doing so you will get burned.laser energy is absorbed by melanocytes (black pigmentation). If dark hairs already present on surface they will absorb the energy n hearted up causing burn. Not only hairs rather even a dark mole should be covered properly before LHR.

Irritated Mole
Sep 4, 2016
Sep 4, 2016
It is more looking like an irritated mole. Chances of conversion in to melanoma, of a common melanocytic nevus is very low (2.5%). However if a mole is asymmetrical with irregular border, colour variegation, diameter >6mm, ulceration and bleeding then you should take an opinion of a dermatologist as soon as possible.

Treatment with isotretinoin causes lot of dryness on skin and applying triple combination (hydroquinone +retinoids+steroid) like glomela irritated it further. Due to the irritation you developed pigmentation so it’s better to go for only treatment with isotretinoin alone. also its important to know that chances of getting recurrence of acne after isotretinoin treatment depends on total dose of isotretinoin which should be 120mg/kg to 150 mg /.kg. for pigmentation and dryness, you should …
