Ultrasound assisted dermal fillers in the USA?
Ultrasound assisted dermal filler treatment
Aug 28, 2022
Aug 28, 2022
Hi Thomas,Yes I’m a bit advocate of using my ultrasound device to see where the vessels are prior to injecting filler into the face. However I’m in the UK not the US.
Kind regards,Dr Maeve Kenningham

Is it safe to get fillers and botox while going through immunotherapy for lung cancer?
Immunotherapy
May 3, 2022
May 3, 2022
Dear Barnardos,I’m relieved to read your treatment is working for your lung cancer. Botox would be fine but just for now I would postpone any filler treatments. Filler is a foreign body (albeit very biocompatible) with the potential to get infected or set up an immune response. Just wait a little longer until your lung treatment is finished. Try a bit of good skin care, peels and microneedling if you want a bit of a freshen up? That’s my advice.Kindest regards,Dr Maeve Kenningham
Temple filler complications – should I get it dissolved?
Temple filler problems
May 3, 2022
May 3, 2022
Dear Good321230,I’m sorry to read this. Restylane is a good product however given the limited details about the problems you are having I would recommend dissolving. I don’t think your problems will go until the product has gone. I would just have an open and frank discussion about your concerns with the surgeon and ask their advice?Wishing you all the best and kindest regards,Dr Maeve Kenningham
Can I get threads on my jawline?
Jawline threads
Feb 9, 2022
Feb 9, 2022
Dear pandoraion,Yes it makes sense to put threads both along the jawline and from the outer cheek bone, I find this creates a lovely sculpting of the jawline without adding gel filler. You get an immediate effect and then your collagen tighten the skin in the next 3 months. However to get the best results I often put in a few threads and add a small amount of filler to strategic areas. Best wishesDr Maeve Kenningham
Would PDO jowl thread lift or masseter Botox be more effective for me?
Jowl thread lift or masseter Botox
Feb 9, 2022
Feb 9, 2022
Dear Chic 1995,From your photos your masseters do not look that big but an in clinic assessment would be important to assess the size. You have some shadows appearing in the nasolabial and marionette areas and I wonder if it’s this that’s creating a rounded look and bothering you?In my opinion I think a jowl thread lift would work really well for you as it will give the appearance of slimming the face and reducing those shadows.Make sure you get a registered medical professional to treat you…
Is a thread lift a good option for a 33 yo woman like me?
Thread lift and how long it lasts
Jan 16, 2022
Jan 16, 2022
Hi Neat397136,A Thread lift is a good option for you to address the slight jowling in your photos as you will get a good lifting effect. However, all surgical and non surgical aesthetic treatments are not permanent. Even surgical face lift results only last for a few years. The length of time you will see the results of your thread lift will depend on a lot of factors. If you have more threads it will last longer. If you have some little bits of filler, Botox, peels and skincare your results…
Can lip filler cause permanent moustache bruising?
Try ultrasound.

Jan 16, 2022
Hi SophieST,Yes I can see the blue hue in both your photos. I have an aesthetic ultrasound machine (a Clarius) and I would use this to have a look as to what is causing this blue hue. You are right it could be Tyndall effect from superficially placed filler but I’ve also seen vessel networks give this appearance and both these can be identified by a doctor proficient with ultrasound. If it’s superficial filler then it can be dissolved. I hope this helps,Dr Maeve K
