How long before I look normal and is this ok after the silhouette procedure? I’m 9 day
This can be normal
Jul 20, 2018
Hi Mace1105,

This can be normal so soon after SS threads, however we would expect this to have settled by now. It does look like the thread has been placed too superficially and not in a straight line (as they are mean to). Have you visited your doctor?

You have some bruising which can account for swelling around the thread and this is why it can take longer for this to settle. You may need another week or two.

Silhouette soft and allergic to PLA, anyone else have this. And what course of treatmen
Further steroids

Hi Helen,
I’m sorry to hear this has happened. Your doctor is correct to start you on oral steroids. He may also consider steroid injections into the inflamed areas. If there is no resolution then considering removing the threads should be considered.
You are correct, this is very rare. PLLA is a material used in many surgical instruments for 50+ years and there are very few reported cases of allergy.

Sincerely,

Dr Nestor

I am a UK Cosmetic doctor and trainer for the Silhouette Soft thread lift. This was the original Silhouette Thread. More recently there is the InstaLift available in the USA. Both are made of poly-lactic acid with a glycolic polymer (both threads and cones). There is hostological evidence that the threads and cones may be present for up to 18 months after treatment, however after this time point they will have fully dissolved.

I agree with Dr Waldorf, that what you may be…
