Assuming normal wound healing, most surgeons will be comfortable with removing all activity and undergarment restrictions at 6 weeks postop. You should be able to carry baby however you like. Hope this helps and enjoy your vacation!

You do look like you would qualify for an insurance covered breast reduction and would be a good candidate assuming you are otherwise healthy. Many insurance providers use the Schnur Scale to determine the minimum amount of breast tissue to be removed to qualify. I estimate this to be at least 550 grams per breast for you. Additionally, insurance carriers use some of the following criteria (which it appears you have met):
Two or more of the following clinical...

Great question. Perhaps the most common thing I see in my practice is transient altered nipple sensitivity, with the most common finding of nipple hypersensitivity. This tends to resolve spontaneously over the ensuing months. However, there are sensory nerves that provide nipple sensibility that can be injured or stretched during the procedure and result in nipple anesthesia, but this is typically self-limited and resolves on its own. Nipple sensory changes...

Breasts come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, frequently, no two breasts are the same on the same person. Don't think of tuberous breast as a "deformity". It is a relatively common variant of normal breast anatomy sometimes also referred to as a constricted breast. It is simply an anatomical condition in which the breast tissue herniates into a widened areola, the fold/crease of the breast is higher than typical, and the lower pole of...

At 9 months postop, it is unlikely that you have any significant remaining swelling. "Rock hard" areas may represent a completely benign condition called fat necrosis. Sometimes hard lumps can form in the fatty breast tissue after a breast reduction. This is especially true for larger reductions in which the blood supply to some areas of the remaining breast tissue is inadequate.
Fat necrosis feels like a firm, round lump (or lumps) and...

With routine wound healing, maximal tensile strength of the wound is achieved by the 12th week, and the ultimate resultant scar has only 80% of the tensile strength of the original skin that it has replaced. The majority of increase in tensile strength is in the first 3 weeks and most surgeons (including myself) will allow for unrestricted activity at 6 weeks postop. In addition to the incision healing, the...
