Can Botox (in masseter) and dermal filler injection be done right after Thermage? Shoul
Botox and Radiofrequency
Nov 21, 2019
Dear Patient,
There was a study published 15 years ago about BOTOX and radio frequency (a device called Thermage) very similar to what you are asking and they observed there was no difference in BOTOX results whether it was followed or not by Radiofrequency right after the procedure. My recommendation is that you follow what your doctor has said but be not afraid of performing RF just after BOTOX.

A doctor is recommending Botox shots to help with pain from radiation burn. Can it harm
Botox to reduce pain
Jul 30, 2019
Dear patient,
Botox does not only inhibit muscles but sensitivity. Therefore, any area that receives Botox will be felt as less painful, will sweat less and will feel a bit numb. It is not the main indication but this secondary effect is used in some cases as the sphincter or other painful areas. Because the effect wanes away, it is always worth trying as you will have experienced how this works and can repeat afterwards.

What can I do about acne bumps from diode laser?
Use of retin A with diode laser
Jul 30, 2019
Dear patient,
retin A is photosensitive which means that it can absorb UVA light in the range of 300-360 nm. But Diode lasers work in the visible range and red light, in the 750-800 nm, so there is no contraindication to use both at the same time. There was a wide concern years ago but it is clear today among the scientific community that lasers such as diodes can be used in people with isotretinoin and retain A.

Folliculitis/acne on butt? What is the best way to get rid of this for good?
Isotrtinoin and Fractional laser for Butt Folliculitis
Jul 30, 2019
Dear patient,
Folliculitis on the buttocks or legs is not uncommon. It usually happens because of the obstruction of hair and sebaceous glands. There are many ways to get rid of these but I would recommend you to take Isotretinoin 40 mg per week: this vitamin A derivative reduces obstruction, sebum production, reduces risk of developing certain types of cancer and increases Collagen synthesis. On the downside I have to point out that this medication is not compatible with pregnancy. There is…
Does masseter jaw reduction with Botox really work? What should I ask during a consulta
Botox makes your face more triangular and V shaped
Jul 30, 2019
Dear patient, Botox and neurotoxins relax or reduce the strength with which you use certain muscles. If it is used in the masseter or the angle of the jaw, you will not be able to use it so well and will not contract accordingly. This means that, as with any general muscle, when you don’t use it its size is reduced and it becomes smaller. After two injections every year, you make the muscle get used to not working so hard and it will eventually diminish in size, making it unnecesary to put…
Please help. What type of treatment would be best for this type of acne?
Treatment for comedogenic acne
Jul 25, 2019
Dear Patient,
Thank you for sending the pictures. It looks you have an obstructive acne or comedogenic acne. It also looks you are developing some small cysts. Several options are on the table: topical tretinoin, Salycilic or lactic acid lotions, or mechanical procedures like microdermabrasion or chemical peels. It would be ideal to combine all these at the same time, otherwise you might see a little improvement but end up losing your patience.

Skin care products for both vulgaris acne and rosacea?
Cleansers for acne and rosacea: the difference
Jul 25, 2019
Dear Patient,
Both acne and Rosacea arise from too much oils produced in the sebaceous gland but while in the first case the surface of the skin is strong and thick, in Rosacea it is fragile and sensitive. Cleansers with powerful emulgents can irritate the skin of a patient with Rosacea. There is an easy trick to know whether a cleanser has a lot of detergent: shake it and see what happens: if it contains a lot of foam, it won’t be suitable for sensitive skin or Rosacea.
Best regards
