Recovery time for Brazilian Buttlift
The average recovery time for the Brazilian Buttlift is 4 – 6 weeks. There is alot of swelling following the procedure. A special compression garment needs to worn for at least one month, 24 hours a day. The garment is only removed when the patient takes a shower. Patients need to take extra care not to sit directly on the buttocks for at least 2 – 3 weeks.
My international patients can go home in about 2 weeks after surgery. But they must follow all my post surgery instructions to ensure a safe and quick recovery! The recovery time, where you will avoid sitting and moderate to high levels of activity, is normally three weeks. Sitting during this period may cause mis-shaping and destruction of the injected material.
Standing, or lying on your stomach only, is recommended during the recovery period, to maintain the desired shape aimed for by the procedure. Your surgeon will tell you the exact recovery time recommended for you based on your situation.
There is no strict answer for recovery after the Brazilian Butt Lift but some surgeons will ask the patient to refrain from sitting on the buttocks for 2 – 3 weeks. Exercise can usually resume after 6 weeks. It takes several months to a year to see the final result. Fairly quick about 5 days. I instruct my patients, It can take up to few months to see your final result.
Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery
Brazilian Butt Lift is a revolutionary procedure to not only lift the butt but also to make the butt fuller and rounder with a better overall shape. In this procedure we lipsouction fat from other areas of the body and then transplant that fat into the buttock.
The operation is performed under a very light anesthetic. The patient is home in a few hours and usually back to work in a few days to a week. The beauty of this operation is that no implants need to be used. Also you will get the added advantage of reduction of unwanted fat in other areas of your body. Our patients are usually say the procedure was much easier than they thought it was going to be and are delighted with their new look. (Frank Lista, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)
Most patients take pain medicine for 2-4 days, and gradually increase their activities until returning to work at 1 week. I require patients to begin walking, preferably outside, the day after surgery. Some patients can start working out a bit the 3rd week after surgery. The final go-ahead for exercise and pressure on the buttock comes at 4 weeks in my practice. Usually the recovery time are between 10-14 days after swollen of liposuction go down.
Recovery after fat transfer to buttocks
Depending upon the amount of liposuction performed, recovery before returning to sedentary work can be about a week. We also have to be careful about putting pressure on your fat grafts, so while sitting in an upright position is ok, laying on your buttocks can cause undo pressure on your grafts and diminish your result.
Brazilian butt lift recovery
Recovery period for a Brazilian butt lift is about 10-14 days. I typically keep the patient overnight because after an agressive liposuction it is good to have a good observation on patients fluids and also a blood work the day after surgery. (Manuel Diaz, MD, Dominican Republic Plastic Surgeon)
I typically recommend that the patient take a week off from work. There is usually pain or discomfort that is worse in the first 3 to 5 days. You will need at least 4 weeks before resuming exercise. (Kenneth B. Hughes, MD, Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon)
My patients can sit on their buttocks postoperatively. I find that it makes no difference in the final result. They can resume exercise in 6 weeks. (Paul Vitenas, Jr., MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
