The Brazilian Butt Lift involves the transfer of fat (using liposuction) from undesirable areas of the body to the buttocks. It provides marked improvement in volume and shape! Fat transfer (Brazilian Butt lift) and buttock implants are the only FDA-approved ways to enlarge the buttocks.
Other injections and shots are not approved by the FDA, are not administered by plastic surgeons (sometimes not by any type of doctor or health care professional) and can lead to infection, massive scarring and permanent deformity. (Andrew Jimerson, MD, Atlanta Plastic Surgeon)
A Brazilian buttock augmentation is a fat transfer procedure with butt injection of fat harvested from different parts of the body. This procedure is not only about increasing the size of the buttocks, but also about improving the proportion of the hip to waist ratio.
Achieving a nice look requires analyzing the aesthetics units that surround the buttocks. In other words, in order to achieve a nicer behind, the lower back needs to be liposuctioned aggressively to improve the takeoff of the buttocks. The buttock’s lower crease needs to be augmented to lift it to a more youthful location. The hip needs to blend with the side of the buttocks for a nicer round transition. In essence, your whole body is transformed with a better proportion.
The volume will depend on the amount of fat that is available. Typically, you need to be about 20lbs above your ideal weight to have this procedure done. This will provide enough fat to achieve a nicer behind. This amount of fat translates into approximately 700 -800 cc of fat per cheek. In terms of volume, this is like putting a very large breast implant in each buttock. (Wilberto Cortes, MD, Houston Plastic Surgeon)
Many say that they typically inject over 5 and 600cc into each side but I’ve found that not to be the case. It really depends on your interests and your shape. Visit your board certified plastic surgeon. (Ricardo A. Meade, MD, Dallas Plastic Surgeon)
Brazilian Butt Lift is actually a butt enlargement procedure, not a lift. It can sculpt and enlarge the butt and is 100% natural. Most of the authorities on butt implants are now moving away from implants and towards fat grafting because fat grafting is a much more natural way to enhance the butt, and has a lot less complications.
The only real downside to fat (rather than implants) is that you need to have fat to give. Skinny people have no choice but to go with butt implants. But if you have sufficient amount of fat around your waist and thighs, a Brazilian Butt lift can give you amazing results. It’s like a 2-for-1. You get liposuction out of the areas where you do not want to have fat and you get to use that fat to increase the butt to give you a more beautiful shape. (Martin Jugenburg, MD, Toronto Plastic Surgeon)
In my practice the Brazilian butt lift consists of sculpting around the butt to accentuate the mound and then fat transfer through injection to enhance the volume of the buttock mound. These procedures are complementary and both essential to enhance the overall feminine appearance of the area. (Talmage J. Raine, MD, FACS, Champaign Plastic Surgeon)
Brazilian Butt Lift and Fat Injections
A Brazilian Butt Lift and Fat Injections to the Butt are different names for the same procedure. During a Brazilian Butt Lift, liposuction of the abdomen, back, flanks, hips, and thighs is performed in order to provide fat for later injection into the buttocks and to recontour the entire trunk and gluteal region. Next, the harvested fat is injected into the buttocks in different levels and different areas in order to maximally improve the shape, fullness, and projection of the buttocks.
Thus, a Brazilian Butt Lift not only increases the volume of the buttocks, but it also allows the plastic surgeon the flexibility to produce each patient’s specific, desired shape. Most patients request a high, round, full, and projecting buttock and this flexibility can only be achieved with the Brazilian Butt Lift. A Gluteal Augmentation with Implants, either below the muscle or below the fibrous covering of the muscle, provides additional volume and projection to the buttocks, but it does not allow for the individual shaping of the gluteal region or the additional benefit of liposuction to the abdomen, back, flanks, and thighs. I recommend you undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift only by a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. (Jaime Perez, MD, Tampa Plastic Surgeon)
Buttocks shape following Brazilian Butt lift
The degree of buttocks shape and size improvement is dependent on the shape of your buttocks to begin with as well as how much fat you have to donate to the grafting. (Arian Mowlavi, MD, Orange County Plastic Surgeon)
